Aston Villa Vs Manchester United

Good performances from the defensive four and Jones. Forward play was lacklustre and the wingers were dire.

Good away win that. Shame we weren't able to kill it off with more of a flourish, but 3 points and keeping in touch at the top is what matters. Hopefully the flair will come back when Rooney, Young and Nani get in form again.

yes we are not playing that brilliantly...but feck we are still winning.....great result...confidence boost....didn't concede.....and yet we are injury jinxed...great result

Everyone complained we weren't getting enough points away from home last season, now we are they're complaining we're not doing it in an attractive enough fashion

We finally managed to win at Goodison and Villa Park this year. Still poor in the final third but a win is crucial.

Vidic (as usual) , Jones and Lind were fantastic and Rooney was quite good as well.

We controlled the game, away from home. Not every game is going to be about fluid attacking football, we are not Spurs after all.

Hopefully Welbeck can stay fit for a while now and cement his place in the team. He will be a big player for us for years to come.

Good result and performance. We're getting better and the likes of Rooney, Nani and Young are starting to find their form. It's a shame we didn't get the second as I think the flood gates would have opened.

Rooney doesn't look the same in and around the edge of the penalty box.I have little expectancy of him actually delivering something, he has lost confidence despite his all around game being still good

we are not scoring more goals, 1-0 is too nervy.

Oooh, it's too nervy, won't anyone think of Kelvin and his nerves?

resorting to petty insult just make you childish and ignorant, twat.

Play your best striker in midfield for 4-5 games and ofcourse he's bound to lose his touch a bit..

That was like watching a pre season friendly, very odd game but all that matters is the 3 points right now.

Absolutely gutted about Hernandez. :(

Yes he will, but can you imagine how good he'll be when he's 23 or so if he keeps on developing at this rate?

I've had high hopes for Welbeck for years and this season (apart from the injuries obviously) have only made them even higher. He got everything he needs to be a top striker, so if he can stay fit for longer periods than he has until now he'll become very very good. Possibly add another "very" or two in there.

Villa are fecking awful... If I was a supporter I'd be appalled by what I've seen so far this season.

They where 8th before today. Fair enough the table doesn't always tell the full story, but 8th isn't bad.

Swansea played much better than Villa, who were appalling. We should've buried them but just scraped another win and could've lost another 2pts near the end.

Still, job done.

our passing were much better today, just that we failed to deliver in the final third..

carrick's best performance in quite some time too...

Villa was absolutely spineless most of the 90 minutes so 1-0 scoreline says more about our lack of cutting edge in front of goal then it does about them. The game was comfortable until the last 10-15 minutes when they seemed to finally find their balls. Our defence with Vida looks rock solid, and Carrick bossed a weak villa midfield, but our forward play still looks blunt and devoid of a genuine spark.

Good performance, but Villa were genuinely terrible for 80% of the game.
