Saturday 10th November 2012
Barclays Premier League
Villa Park
KO: 1730 GMT

Team should be...

GK: De Gea

RB: Rafael
CB: Evans
CB: Ferdinand
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Young

CF: Rooney
CF: RVP

Subs: Lindegaard, Smalling, Cleverley, Anderson, Nani, Hernandez, Welbeck

4-4-2 with Rooney and RVP up front please Fergie

Assuming Evans went off injured (and maybe Nani also?), added to Fletcher and Scholes missing tonight, then:

De Gea
Rafael---Smalling---Ferdinand---Evra
Valencia---Carrick---Cleverley---Young
Rooney
RVP

Bench: Lindegaard, Wootton, Buttner, Anderson, Giggs, Hernandez, Welbeck

I expect Young will get hell for the penalty against them at home last season, so a test of character there. I haven't seen much of Villa this season, but seem to be doing terribly so may as well attack with wingers. Hate playing against Agbonlahor - he annoys me the way he throws himself into our defenders (certainly Vidic in the past) and he's scored against us before.

-----------De Gea-----------
Rafael--Rio--Smalling--Evra
------Carrick--Cleverley----
Valencia---Rooney---Young
-------------RvP-------------

Subs: Lindegaard, Buttner, Anderson, Powell, Giggs, Welbeck, Hernandez.

And if Evans is fit than he'll probably start, Smalling will go on the bench and Buttner will be left out.

Carrick
Cleverley
Scholes

Valencia
van Persie
Rooney

SUBS: Lindegaard, Smalling, Anderson, Fletcher, Nani, Welbeck, Hernandez.

Is what I'd like to see, assuming Evans is fit of course. Think Fergie will probably play Young though as the guys above have alluded to.

I think this is the likely line-up as well. Not a fan of Cleverley playing in a two as he's better higher up the pitch, but for now I think this will be our go to set up.

Villa will most likely field a side something like this:

Guzan - Stevens, Vlaar, Clark, Lowton - Bannan, Ireland, Westwood, Weimann - Benteke and Agbonlahor

I can honestly say - I don't think there have been many sides (if we exclude newly promoted sides) in the P.L where I know so little about the line-up as I do about this Villa-side. Lot of players I have only seen a few times

Would be happy with:

Rafael Rio Evans Buttner
Carrick Scholes
Valencia Cleverley Welbeck
Robin

Subs: Lindegaard, Evra, Smalling, Anderson, Rooney, Hernandez, Powell

AV 0 United 4

DDG

Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra

Carrick Cleverley

Valencia Rooney Young

R...V...P is the girl I want to be

Yeah I think that is spot-on.

Ashley Young can expect one hell of a booing for this one after what he did against Villa last season.

Our last meeting at Villa Park was one of the most useless, spineless performances I've seen from a home team.

Does anyone else find it a bit daft that Villa have the word "Prepared" on their badge?

--------DDG--------
Rafael-Rio-Evans-Evra
---Scholes--Carrick---
Valencia-Rooney-Young
----------RVP--------

2-0 RvP and Young to get the goals.

We are in a great run of form (result wise) and we've now entered an "easy patch", we've beaten teams way stronger than Villa and the like we've got coming up, and I fully expect us to keep on winning now.

Not saying I'm overly confident as no game is an automatic 3 points, but anything less out of the next few games is a dissapointment in all honesty, we have more than enough of a difference of quality stacked in our favour to warrant the wins.

DDG
Rafael Rio Evans Evra

Rafael Rio Evans Evra
Anderson Carrick Cleverley

Yes it looks lopsided, but formations rarely end up being as symmetrical on the pitch as they are on paper. We usually mostly attack down one wing, and Young is hardly going to provide that wing, so just leave him out. Evra, Cleverley and occasionally Rooney will provide more than enough width against Villa. The combination of Carrick's composure, Cleverley's tempo and guile and Anderson's drive and creativity will be worth it.

Cleverley-Carrick vs Arsenal was good, but it was crying out for a bit of Anderson spark. And Anderson vs Braga never really had a chance to play well, starting alongside Giggs and Rooney in midfield.

I would love to see Carrick, Cleverley and Anderson in midfield together but I do think after missing a few games that Scholes is pretty much nailed on to start this one.

Classic let down game after a run of tough fixtures and European football. I hope utilize the squad a little and change it up with players looking to impress. Welbeck, Buttman,Young, Clev should all start. Powell to come in for Scholes in the 60 minute, if we are ahead.

Lindegaard
Rafael Smalling Ferdinand Buttman
Carrick Scholes Cleverley
Young RVP Welbeck

Subs: DeGea, Wootton, Evra, Anderson, Rooney, Hernandez, Powell

My preferred line up for the game

De Gea
Rafael, Rio, Evans, Evra
Cleverley, Carrick, Anderson
Valencia, RVP, Rooney

Smalling instead of Evans if Evans is indeed hurt.

If we control the CM, with Rooney, RVP movement plus the ability of both Cleverley and Ando to get forward - we should be able to tear Villa a new one.
