After the game gloat as much as you like - hopefully.

But don't tempt fate. Basle have already seen off Celtic and Liverpool - if we can get beaten at home by Bolton, we can sure as hell get stuffed in Switzerland.

Apparently, their players seem to think we have left out Keane, Butt, Beckham, Rio and Larry deliberately because we don't rate them as a team.

Perhaps this is a media lie to get their players fired up against us. But for fecks sake, do they honestly believe we would be so blase in the second stage?

I can't wait to get those players available again. It will be like having a new team.

Just hope we can sneak a 1-0 tonight at worst.

No, the swiss media say clearly that your players are injured and that SAF has no choice but to let play less experienced players.

My team

Not only in it, but in two positions.

I know he did well on Saturday, but could his little legs cope with right wing and being up front?

Good Luck to the team at please keep the Circus Clown :D Bartez out of it and put Ricardo in instead Fab can prepare for Liverpool depending how Ricardo is standing tonight.
Is there someone to replace Fortune damn he just do what is being told and is always the dirtys on the pitch <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> with all the time is is falling to the ground.

Keep the Redflag flying high. <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

I'll reckon we'll beat them 3-1. <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

I'd give Forlan a go in place of one of the Ole clones <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Which one are you on the other forum then?

Does anybody think that having Blanc out may actually suit the side tonight. Basel have a very pacey attack and it may suit united to have a pacey defence against them.

They might have run rings around Blanc so I think O'Shea and Brown will be a lot more suited to coping with the Basel style.

Are you guys joking ?? 6-0, 5-0, 3-0 ... (!!!) do you really believe that it's gonna be so easy for you ??? my god, you will be very disapointed !!
With all these players missing you really believe you will do so well ?? take care, more you believe, more you can be disapointed... I personnaly believe that Basel will beat you, but I believe it because I know I am not gonna be disapointed, this makes the difference !
Come on guys let's get serious a little bit... (!!) How could MU beat such a great team as Basel ??? It is nice to dream but it is important to come back to the reallity sometimes...

i think we have to win both our games against this mob or we're be strugglin to reach the quaters...come march when it all starts up again hopefully well be fully fit and in a position to at least challenge for one trophey

think it could be a blessin in disguise too that blancs out, lets hope veron continues his european form.

lets hope Bartez the clown can concentrate for ninety minutes, personnally id rather have seaman in goal, thats how much i think of fabian

COME ON UNITED !!!!!

We scored 5 past newcastle on Saturday. Are you saying that you are as good as Newcastle, or that your attack is as good as Newcastle? <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

Your defence better had be! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Yes. I would be very worried to see Blanc coming on tonight. SAF might be tempted to do this and play PN in midfield rather than fullback <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

It is 3-2 for me and which way that 3 goes will be down to the midfield. Fortune will have to play the game of his life tonight! <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

its amazing to see (and hear) so many United fans predicting a thrashing of Basel! I bet some of you hope that the United team will not show the same over-confidence!

Basel are not great defensively but they are very fast and fluid going forward, they'll score tonight for sure. I can see a draw, which i'd take as a decent result for you lot, obviously it wasn't enough for us...

a draw would be a shit result but i could see us only drawing this too.
Remember the scum were 3-0 down and although it finished 3-3 they really should of won in the end. If we dont beat these lot twice i think were struggle to qualify...

From what i have seen of Basle so far, all i can do is complement them. they are fast, they give it their all, and they play very well as underdogs, ask Celtic and Liverpoo!.Liverpoo were totaly destroyed in the first half.
It will be a hard game, and if they score within the first 15 mins it will be a up hill struggle till the end.
other than that, United will beat this side 9 out of 10 times, i just hope this isnt their lucky day.

2:2, maybe 3:2</strong><hr></blockquote>

this is the thing i dont get with you lot

you do know it was pools nickname dont you?

should be an interesting game tonight, I think the brown/o'shea partnership will do fine! I think o'shea has prooved his quality this and last season over and over again....and wes should be hot to get into the team again.
in basels side, h.yakin, rossi and gimenez looked good in their previous CL games. what impressesd me the most was that they really needed few chances to score. ergic (if fit) is someone to look out for too.
one of basels weaker players is bernt haas, giggsy will tear him appart.

I reckon we'll scrape a 2-1 victory, Ruud and Seba to score but we'll be under the kosh for most of the 2nd half.

With three very strong teams, don't be surprised if performances against Basle determine who goes through (they certainly won't, sorry Basle fans).

I think Barthez could be critical as he is best at dealing with 1-on-1/shot-stopping which is what their chances will be all about.

"With three very strong teams"
come one dude, MU is not bad also !!!
