We'd better not fecking take this one lightly ... I'm tired of losing to Bolton!

They also took points off Arsenal and Chelsea. :nervous:

Totally agreed, I think we need to go with a full team for this one. Is Crissie back from holiday yet?

------------Howard------------
--Gazz---Rio---Micky---O'shea--
--------Keano--Phil------------
-Cris (Kleb)--Scholes---Giggs---
-------------Ruud-------------

When is Ole back?

Ole phoned me the other day to tell me that he's in a reserve game on Jan 15.

He's hoping he'll be fit for the Wolves game on Jan 17.

Agree completely, it's hard to go past that team. Maybe Fortune at left back ahead of JohnO.

Don't think Ronaldo is back yet, so it'll most likely be Kleb on the right.

Bench:
Howard
Fortune/O'Shea (whichever doesn't start)
Butt
Fletcher
Forlan

Howard is great, but surely he can't be on the pitch and the bench at the same time. ;)

Yes. Bolton seem to be the boogy team in the league. We should never take then lightly. They play very well together and they are also one of the teams with the most shots on goal in the league.

Bolton usually raises their game when they play top sides, they won 2 of the last 5 meetings with them, actually i reckon this game along with the Arsenal game on March as the most difficult places to go .

Don't forget Newcastle at the weekend:

Howard
Gary Wes Silvestre Fortune
Nicky Phil
Kleberson Scholes Giggs
Nistelrooy

Nicky could do with a consecutive game.

Carroll
Forlan
Keane
O'Shea
Ferdinand

If Bolton would play against Boro, Soton and Wolves like they do against United, Arse and Chelski, they'd be a top 6 side IMO.

Scoring the first goal is very important, if they can keep 0-0 for the first hour we'll have to be more offensive, thus giving them every chance to score on a counter attack.

After Ronaldo's actions against Bolton at OT I'd play him if he's available. The rest of the team pretty much picks itself.

I don't mind Bolton because they take points off the Arse. But my Dad fecking hates them. I think its because of the 1958 cup final. I also hate liverpool more than man city but my dad detests city. Must be a generation thing. At least hatred still exists thats the main thing.

:nono: Resting Keano for a very difficult away game is a non-starter. Did you see how important he is when he came on against Villa?

Worried about Forlan. Hope he gets a game and scores a few.

Class striker he is

Howard

Gaz Rio Silvestre Fortune

Kleb Keano Phil Giggs

Scholes

Ruud

And we'll still probably lose. ;)

That's going against the grail for you, Cal! :)

We'll need Keano, and there is no logic behind calls to rest him. His 40 mins on sunday was his first action since boxing day, and our next game is on a sunday.

Agreeing with Gazza, it's a first, isn't it? :smirk:

Anyway, guess we just sometimes disagree on which teams are weak. IMO Bolton are not so weak.

Can a mod do something about it?

Bolton is a potential banana skin fixture. They beat Chelski and had the Gooners on the ropes for long periods until they escaped with adraw. In fact Sam Alladyce has built up a very formidable side .What seems to amaze me isd why they can't play againaist every body else in the way they do againaist big teams. I think we should take this one seriously and field our stongest squad else we may end up loosing valuable points .I understand they ave sighned Javi Moreno last isaw him play againaist the scousers in UEFA finals he seemed to be a dangerous player i surely ope they won't field him againaist us .I cant predict the score in this one but we should beat them.

So would he not do the same coming on against Bolton?

His introduction made more difference than if he had started.

i think Wes Brown should play against Bolton instead of Rio because he needs games to get match fit for when Rio is banned.

i think Butt should continue in midfield instead of P.Neville because he has done well recently.

Agreed.

Phil came in when Nicky was briefly injured and has done very well, Nicky should get the same treatment in return after replacing an injured Phil against Villa.

Anyone know if there will be a live webcast somewhere?

Play the team we would play if we were playing Arsenal or Liverpool away....this is no less a match than playing the teams I mention.

Certainly comparable to Liverpool, but not Arsenal.

Anyway, anyone got a webcast link or radio link or anything like that?
