Since Scott and Fred are injured, put Phil Jones as DM together with Matic. We have nothing to lose. This might work in a once off game raising match.
.............................. DDG
Lindelöf... Varane... Maguire... Baily... Dalot
............... Matic.... Jones..
...................... Bruno
........... Elanga..... Ronaldo
Honestly this is the best idea but instead of Bruno I would play pogba for this game but tell him to imagine he’s still the only dm. A break leaking to getting the ball to elanga who can find Ronaldo is the best option.Since Scott and Fred are injured, put Phil Jones as DM together with Matic. We have nothing to lose. Elanga from a Van Dijk slip. It's written in the stars.Who will be our demba ba![]()
Our players don’t have the mentality for violence.3-5-2 with 7 defenders on the pitch, bruno, and 2 speed merchants. Then pull an atletico like performance with tons of playacting and violence, and hopefully we'll just lose by 2 goals.
We'll win. I bet my life on this
If players like Rashford give 100%, and everyone else gives 100%, then yes we can. But I doubt that he would and the rest of the players like Pogba would give 100%.
Two banks sitting deep; play only on the counter, relying on the infamous moment of individual brilliance?
Lots of talk about the cricket score they'll rack up, can it go any other way?
How would you approach the game?
I'd go full Mourinho for this one, personally. We're not going to do anything in a game of football. Does Rangnick have it in him to be a shithouse?
In this scenario, I'd like to believe we can be the 'game raising #%^£' we've gone on about with other teams for so many years. It's amazing, how far we have fallen. I remember Steve Bruce saying how Liverpool fans judged their successes by our failures. Now, the shoe is on the other foot. I agree with those who say that it is 11v 11 and as such anything is possible. The fact is that to beat Liverpool we will have to produce a quality of performance the likes of which we have simply not been able to produce for years. Every one of our players would need to play out of their skin or we would need to have one of those games where they batter us for 90+ minutes and we break free and score. If we go toe to toe with Liverpool we will be destroyed. Simple as that.
The first half v City yesterday showed that Liverpool have gears to shift into that we simply do not have. Realistically, I would be content with a respectable defeat something like 2-0. Personally I cannot see anything like the 0-5 beating that we received at OT. That said, let's face it, Liverpool and City are levels above us and Liverpool will be absolutely buzzing off beating City at Wembley. This is not a time to be playing Liverpool.

Ultimately, it may just be a bridge too far for us, but if there's any pride in this collective, they give it their all to try and thwart the scousers.
It mightn't be enough, but it would be satisfying if we've given them a game.
A lesson would imply we will learn something from it, we won't. We will get totally fecked though. No chance.
They play with such a high tempo and the game could easily be over in 10-15 mins.
Our play is too slow and pedestrian, and we will be taught a lesson.
It's funny, as you'll get some uber sh!thouse team like Burnley or Norwich skank a result to a top team every so often.
Yet I don't for even one moment think we have that in us.
Yeah, we're currently like Arsenal in the late Wenger era. No organisation, mixed bag of 'not good enough/weak/lazy' players and very easy to play against. You just know that we're going to get humped by anybody half-decent.
The poor sides are organised, sit-deep and work hard at least, hence why occasionally they grab a freak result

We just conceded as many chances to Norwich...Norwich (!) at home, as they'll have had in 6 games.
Without McFred you wonder who is going to stem the tide in the middle. Our only chance will be a real shut out job, Wan Bissaka in, told not to go beyond the half way line, Matic patrolling a few yards in front of the centre backs, and hope punting it to Rashford somehow gets us somewhere.
I think i'll have it on a second screen tonight as it could be carnage.
I often think this. A side like Palace or Burnley might go to anfield or Abu Dhabi fc in the run in and get a point. Hard to see our current bunch do anything but underwhelm like at the etihad a few weeks ago. We're so predictably limp
