Champions League 2014/15

It feels absolutely shit following Champions League with United not in it. I'll probably watch Bilbao v Napoli or Arsenal v Besiktas tonight while thinking about our absence all the way.

Eh? It's an awesome competition even without us. Can't wait until the proper group stage kicks off

Wow. Really don't fancy that Arsenal team at all. Weak in both defence and midfield.

How is that a weak team? Debuchy, Koscielny and Mertesacker are all good, Monreal is decent, Flamini is all right for a back up, Wilshere is good, Özil and Sanchez are class. Cazorla and Oxlade are fine too.

I don't enjoy club competitions without United nearly as much as I do when United are involved. I don't see a team I'd cheer for either, I enjoy international competitions even if Poland are not in it but it doesn't work for me in club football. Last PL season was a nightmare.

Arsenal will cruise through like always. These average European teams always get blown away by pace in the first half when they come over here.

Just cheer for Porto. I know you like me.

Porto have been really good so far what I've seen. How you think you'll do in the league this year?
I think we're favourites on paper, looking at the squads. That said, Benfica can easily win the vast majority of their games as well, so it may be a small margins league, in which a couple of bad games from either can decide things. Don't think Sporting will mount a real challenge and will be a clear third.

I think herrera is gonna have a monstrous season for you.

I didn't say anything at all about the attack - not a peep. Koscielny is the only one of that back 4 that I rate. Flamini is in decline and Wilshire is nothing special. I simply don't rate that back 6 as a unit. Not that Besiktas are a team to test them though.

Well that's a team I like (not because of you though ) so I'll probably be rooting for them when they play. I also like Dortmund and Roma.

Mertesacker is a very good defender. Slow as feck but very capable otherwise.

Malmö 2-0 up against Salzburg, we'll probably have a Swedish team in CL for the first time in ages.

Salzburg still can't make it to the groups. Quite an achievement considering the investment Red Bull have made over there. Still 70 minutes to go though.

still time ;)

Athletic Club all over Napoli at the minute. Laporte missed an open net (did bobble a bit to be fair) and the commentators say they missed another big chance too but I missed that.

The other central defender had a free header from a couple of yards

If they continue like this (Red Bull) Leipzig will be in the CL before them.

Besiktas have been good, Arsenal will still get a routine 2-0 win like they always do in CL qualifiers. Have they ever been even remotely close to getting knocked out in these?

They're already in 2. Bundesliga aren't they? It's far easier to attract players when you are located in Germany so I won't be suprised.
