I haven't heard the guy say anything interesting or offer any real insight yet.

you'll still be saying he same thing 10 years from now.

Poor old Hernandez he scores arguably his most important goal ever, and then gets accused of been selfish, and not actually scoring the goal at all!

Thierry Henry still mad that Nedved and Ronaldinho beat him to the Ballon'Dor lol. All he ever does is state the obvious, I thought he was decent during the world cup but for Sky he hasn't really been a very good pundit and imo Jamie Nedknapp is better than him.

I wasn't a fan. He was made to look better because BBC pundits in general are shit. Easier to look good when the person next to you is Shearer, Phil Neville and Alan "terrible positioning from the defender" Hanson

Here comes the other Barca can do no wrong brigade.

The issue here is why the feck is anyone even discussing Barcelona?

Neutrals can't call out Madrid's diving without the 'but Barca do it too...' retort?

Its kind of sad tbh, he is arguably the greatest EPL player of all time and he cant analyse for sh!t.
Wasn't he a bit better when during his stint during the world cup? Was that for the BBC? I've left the tv on but to be honest I usually give the pre/post match talks a miss, so this is the first time I'm really listening to him on Sky - shocked he's this bad tbh.

Simeone did a Mourinho with his subs today.

Hope Juve or Real win it now! Was fun as long as Real didn't manage the decima, but now as they have it anyway, I don't care much if they have 10 or 12 in the end. It's not like any club is catching them anytime soon anyway.

And congrats to @Vato @Raul Madrid @carvajal and co, Ancelotti finally beat Simeone again!
thanks , it´s was a tough game. At this point I would like Barcelona in the semifinals. Purely because I do not like the prospect of losing a final against them, even with the possibility that we win. Also happy to reach the semifinals because it means more % for Ancelotti to stay next season

So it wasn't an issue of spending then? As for Chelsea changing managers, you can easily say the same about pretty much every team in the continent. Chelsea are following that model where the manager is just another employee so I am not sure that matters that much. Atlético, Juventus and Dortmund have spent less than Arsenal and City and still did better in recent years. English clubs act as though spending is the ONLY factor when in reality it is a vital, necessary and important one but not the only one which lead them to ignore the other pieces of the puzzle that elevate the likes of Barcelona and Bayern.

Atletico only had 1 great season in the CL though, Dortmund had 2, you will never be consistent if you don't spend.

Yeah, his World Cup stint was better.

I agree, the top teams are getting stronger again, City just need to sort themselves out.

Yep it just happens in cycles. By the end of the transfer window in the summer, I fully expect United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal all to have enough quality in their teams to dispatch the big 3 in Europe.

No way, those 3 are well ahead of the PL clubs at the moment

Not really sure who I want to win the trophy. Don't really mind really. Probably just not Juve.

How did Monaco not get a penalty and how was Chiellini not sent off in this match? Juve had luck in this tie.

In case you wanted to visualise the trio's dominance in the last few years, here's their semi-finals presences:

Bayern: 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
Real: 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
Barca: 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015

Thank you, that is very kind of you to say. Given Madrid's recent record against them and the fact that they just needed a score draw, I really did not see Real going through. Hopefully now Madrid can build on this and put in a strong finish to the season.

If anything United and Chelsea are the only ones with the spending power AND FFP quota to buy their way there.
Well Arsenal are finally winning trophies again and look at their attack now with Carzola, Sanchez, Ozil, Walcott etc, add a top class striker and they have a brilliant attacking line which would score against anyone. Also when was the last time Arsenal have put a run together this good? A cdm and a striker and they will be up there.

Chelsea just need depth, they have a brilliant starting 11, they choked this year but that happens and Mourinho will definitely make the CL his priority next season.

How did Chiellini get away this

And there must be wrong with Chiellini's boots, also slipped against Dortmund

I must admit a CL semi-final involving Bayern,Barca,Real and Juve is a breath of fresh air, i only like underdogs when they are playing beautiful football and capturing your heart in the process.

Happy for Real Madrid to get through, Atletico deserved nothing. Hope it's Bayern vs Barcelona and Real Madrid vs Juventus.

I honestly don't know how to respond to this. Never once have I said you can make it without spending, nor did I speak about consistency. I said that spending is not the only one factor, albeit a vital one so I am not sure what you are responding to. As for Atlético and Dortmund, I was using them as examples compared to City and Arsenal who outspent and did not have even have that one or two seasons. So again I am not sure what you are responding to.

Off to Semis. Not entirely happy with the overall performance but will take it any time.

and that blue jersey is sexy. Italy's should be like this.

First in 8 games that Real got the better of Atletico?

Doesn't seem long ago that Atletico were a punching bag for Real.

Btw when are your injured players and especially Modric back? You will at least need him and Benzema back to beat Bayern or Barca.

"Atletico,Juventus and Dortmund have spent less than Arsenal and City and still did better in recent years"... by recent years you mean only the last 2 seasons? the comment you were replying to was talking about the english clubs hopefully dominating again after spending this summer - keyword - Dominate.

Atletico,Dortmund and Juventus have not been dominant in Europe, they have had 2 good seasons in the CL on average per team with 2 of those teams losing in the Final, Juve might make it 3 - not exactly domination is it? and Dortmund and Atletico seem to be regressing in both the CL and their various leagues as they are unable to spend, which suggests that you cannot maintain a level of consistency without spending well in the transfer window.

In regards to the comments about spending, The bloke alluded to the fact that English Clubs have been terrible in the the transfer window in recent years and they might make it right this summer, whilst i agree with your comment about spending not being the only factor, i think the likes of Barca,Real and Bayern have proven that all you need to do is spend and spend well in order to be consistent in Europe.
