Champions League Round of 16 (14th Feb - 15th Mar)

PSG are just a bunch of individuals, all their strat is 'pass the ball to Messi and Mbappe and hope they do something'.

The triple threat battle between PSG, City and Arsenal for the "biggest European bottlers" crown could still go either way.
It's not really bottling when they're simply losing to a better side.

They were individuals when they had quality. These aren't individuals, most of the players arent that good and the entire midfield are nothing players.

PSG don't seem to be able to have sustained possession higher up and get Messi more involved. It's a stretch play to Mbappe.

Well, Scholesy at around the same age was a key factor in taking United to 3 Champions League finals in 4 seasons. There are multiple ways to be very influential and yet adapt with age.

He was playing in a much better team under an infinitely superior manager.

People are going to start rate them soon enough though, when they crush some farmers again.

Yeah, and footballers age differently. Also, Scholes played in deep midfield and Messi is expected to be an all-action forward. It is a problem for whichever team takes Messi though because in games like this they are playing with 10 men.

No he wasn't. Was a rotation player in both 2009 and 2011.

Had you said Giggs, you would've had a point.

Spurs look pretty tame, first shot on goal no shots at goal. Better pick things up in the last 25 minutes.

Not that he has been particularly great tonight, but if Mbappé stays at PSG throughout his best years, it will go down in history as one of the biggest wastes of a player who could have gone anywhere and won everything.

Messi has been meh in the UCL since 2019, his last great game against a strong team was the 3-0 against Liverpool in Camp Nou

The WC kinda hid his age cause the pace is way slower at international football, plus the only real top team he faced was France in the final.

He is the GOAT, but he is looking like his age.
Longer than that. He’s been a non factor in CL away games for a long time now.
Doesn’t matter how good you are, you really have to run at the highest level.

Not a waste to his bank account, or his influence in Qatar.
