Champions League Round of 16 (14th Feb - 15th Mar)

Spurs is why qualifying for the CL when you don’t have the squad to do anything isn’t as exciting as it’s made out.
They fought all season for this? Or our last minute goal campaign last season?
Waste of time.

Teams like that mainly qualify for the money it brings in, they aren't expecting to go far. Saying that, they did get to the CL final a few years ago.

Everyone talking about Messi but young guy Mbappe, the heir apparent to dominate world football according to many, has been meh.

He could have gone anywhere and earned enough money for the next five generations of his family to live in unmitigated luxury. There comes a point when having even more money isn't just automatically better than having an impressive legacy rather than one where you will be remembered for wasting your career in exchange for more cash. When he's 50 years old, I wonder if he'd look back and say "Yeah, I could have gone to Real Madrid and won several CLs, and been remembered as one of the greatest footballers ever; but then I'd only have €900m now. Instead I stayed at PSG and won nothing but a bunch of pointless, barely-contested Ligue 1 trophies, but on the other hand, I have €1200m now. Much better."

1. He has a WC
2. I don't think retired players think about stuff like this. Does Robson regret not going to clubs where he could have won more?

We would have given Milan a bigger challenge than Spurs

I kid we suck

This is what you get when playing in such a shit league. Ligue 1 isn't even slightly close to the standard of the other big leagues, so PSG simply don't have enough experience playing games where their financial superiority isn't automatically a gigantic advantage that requires a huge upset to overcome. If 98% of your time is spent in near-automatic success, real challenges become much, much harder. Even the Bundesliga usually has at least a couple of other teams that are very tough to beat, and their mid/lower-table teams are also quite decent compared to most countries.

Bayern with 21-2 goals and 8 wins out of 8 games against PSG, Barca, Inter, and Plzen.
Nobody knows how we didn't concede to PSG especially in the first leg, same against Barcelona, but I won't complain.

And done, excellent result

Pretty crazy considering how often they were on the brink of a crisisthis season. Didn't hurt their CL results.

Spurs need a goal

Conte brings on Sanchez for kulusevski....

Good win for Bayern, they're still missing a top class striker to be favourites for the UCL.

I mean Monza would have given them a bigger challenge. Spurs have been atrocious

English sides make enough money these days without it. I think Spurs spent more money last season when they didn’t qualify than this season.
United have a habit of doing that as well. It doesn’t really add anything to the coffers

Bayern's back four is world class.

Alphonso Davies is a beast.
De Ligt and Upamecano are top.
Even the RB Stanišić is a good player.

They're gonna be tough to beat

I wonder what people would say if Fernandes did something like that. Oh, we know. Despite not even doing like that.

Upamecano is probably the best CB in the world right now. PSG flopping in Europe is as certain as death and taxes, I hope the Qataris don't make the same mistakes at United.
