Can't wait for the return of the Champions League, love it!

Think we need to start going 4-4-2 away from home and lets teams try and cope with us, just attack at every opportunity.

Why should they be? Just look at the teams that people have selected. No Fletcher, no Nani, no Park, in some cases no Anderson. I mean we destroyed Arsenal because we pressed the ball and our movement was excellent.

You can't drop Carrick and Fletcher for this game, and that means even if its at the expense of Scholes. Anderson deserves a start too, and too bad we can't have more subs because Park should be included as well.

Personally I think Carrick and Anderson should definitely play but I can see at least 1 if not both of them miss out to make way for a Scholes/Hargreaves partnership :(

feck knows what the result will be because although Rangers won there 0-3 we usually do things the hard way in away games in Europe so if we do win it'll only be by the odd goal I would imagine

Yep our away record in europe in the past years is actually not very good, just 6 wins (Benfica, Sporting, Lille, Kiew, Debrecen, D.Bucharest) from the last 20 matches.

There's a difference between rotation and resting. Why not play players in form? You wouldn't want to drop Ronaldo after he scored a brace, why would you be hypocritical in your thoughts in Fletchers case?

Because I happen to think that playing at Home infront of 76,000 United fans (or whatever!) is a different kettle of fish to playing against Lyon at their place.

I just think that Hargreaves and Scholes are better equiped in Europe.

Fair point, but Lyon (albeit a good side) aren't exactly as strong as Arsenal.

I think you'll find that they'll put up more of a fight than Arsenal. Not hard like...

Don't get me wrong the concept of what you are saying is bang on, players should keep their shirts if performing well. However, it's a massive risk in this instance.

Cris is still injured so its Schillaci alongside Boumsong and Bodmer or Toulalan as defensive midfielder the rest is like you say...

Lyon lost 1-0 against Le Mans today but they rested Benzema, Grosso and Toulalan.

Not by a long shot a win would be nice, but even a tie or a one goal loss with United getting an away goal or two wouldn't be the end of the world. This is a big big game though

Replace Fletcher and put Hargreaves and its better, remember we will be away. Anyway Scholes was rested to play on Wednesday, he is Fergie's favourite.
