I still don’t understand how civilians are expected to react 100% without any mistakes or sudden movements, despite being put in an obviously traumatising situation - and any mistake, or sudden movement is grounds for causation for them to be killed.
Doesn’t make sense to me, especially considering officers are trained, armed, armoured and out numbering the individual too.
I agree 100%. I was pulled over Thursday for a random breathalyser test and I won't lie, I was crapping my pants a bit, if you added a gun into the situation I don't know what I would have been like.
The police should feel protected and capable to deal with any situation thrown at them, they're too important an institution not to, but with each passing incident where there is a clear abuse of power, tragic misunderstanding or down right discrimination it becomes more and more obvious something has to be done because not only should people not only be gunned down needlessly but Police trust and respect will dwindle and in turn we will see more incidents like the ones in this thread.
