Cop in America doing a bad job, again

How does one not recognize it's not their own apartment? Kids get locked up for murder for standing watch on botched armed robberies yet this woman is out on bail.

Even if her story were true mistaking your apartment and killing someone is only slightly better than burglarizing and killing someone.

Oh come on. That's a very high standard for a not very well paid job that has to deal with a hell of a lot more stress than 99% of us office drones. I have no problem at all with cops using industrial language with people that are acting the maggot. And that video conveniently doesn't include whatever shit he was getting before he lost his rag. I've worked in ER's where junkies (and drunks, who were much more of a problem tbf) caused absolute fecking chaos and the security guys regularly had to tell them to get fecked, without mincing their words. You can only take professionalism so far.

The whole gun thing would be my only major issue here but hey. That's 'Merca for you. Nobody seemed in any imminent danger of getting shot. If they had been, you can be damn sure that segment of the video would have got past the edit.

I could agree with you if one of the parties wasn't armed and legally entitled to kill you and get away with it at any time.

I agree about the language. You speak to people in a way they relate. It's that simple.

He's obviously lost it there though and the comments about shooting heroin and dying was too far IMO.

At the end of the day, this bloke handled a hostile, confrontational situation without shooting anyone - or even putting his hands on them - so it seems a bit precious when people (not talking about you here) take him to task for using mean words.

Context is everything, of course. Impossible to judge his actions fairly based on that very short clip.

My cigarette packages keep telling me "Smoke this and die" (Well, it's all of you, society, doing so).

Hard to blame this officer for the same thing. Only thing of interest would be to know why he felt the need to pull out his gun, but the video doesn't show that (is there a longer version?).

Right, the clinic part does add another dimension that I hadn't considered. Can we be sure they weren't shooting up heroin from this video though?

Question is why did he stop at all? Or rather , why didnt he took off the moment the officers left the cruiser and approached his car? Surely he would have better chances on the road .

Never mind shooting anyone. He didn’t lay his hands on anyone despite an obviously heated confrontation (you can bet your arse the footage would have been shared if he had) and yes, that’s a low bar but still. Don’t think it’s reason enough to share his face all over the internet and try to get him sacked.

He was probably standing in a threatening manner and exhibiting behaviour of an armed, dangerous man.

Imagine not following the verbal commands of a random person in your own home.

I'm sure it won't be long until a distant photo of him dressed menacingly in a hoodie comes out or that he once smoked some weed in college or something. Nothing like a good smearing when you're shot just for being in your own home.

This must be difficult for some people though.. I mean part of the reason for wanting guns is to protect yourself against home invaders. So in this case, would he have been justified in shooting her? But the she is a police officer. And he's black. So many different opposing points here.
 
Her apartment needed searched that night before she was allowed to even go home. This is just nonsense

He would have been justified, but there is absolutely no way in hell that he wouldn't have been locked up that very night.
