Him testing negative means 3 days after meeting the person isnt a surprise.
As we've seen already testing positive will just be treated as two week "injury" e.g. Mane out of Villa game and then back for the next one two weeks later.
It's not great but that's the reality. Don't think we'll see any suspension of the leagues unless deaths really go off the scale which hopefully won't happen. Somewhere like Leicester has been in some form of local lockdown for about 3 months now but they've continued playing at home so completely different to the mid May talk of neutral grounds for covid hotspots (remember all the talk of Merseyside derby having to take at Wembley).
Agree the logical thing would've been to suspend international football until next March and also not start europe until next Feb and just do straight knock out but we can't have too much common sense when money is king in this sport.

Only when you are with the team in a sporting context, then you're a part of the 'bubble'. Meeting up with covid positive friends privately is different. I think it simply has to be that way for sports to go ahead, and to discourage athletes from meeting up with 'normal' people who don't test themselves every day.

I think it can take multiple days after infection for the tests to show positive, so a negative test now doesn't necessarily mean he's safe, and he may become infectious in the coming days. He probably doesn't have it, but they have to be super precautious
Maybe im being silly but how is that any different than the whole portugal squad who have been around ronaldo and he has tested postive.
Basically, why does rooney have to isolate with a negative test and say, bruno doesnt with his negative test?

don’t think it will. Even in France with their lockdown, schools are open.Whilst we may get lockdowns, think everyone is being a lot more pragmatic now, and most sports will continue.

Yeah I imagine if it truly comes to it they will go into world cup camp type bubbles but I think that's the absolute worst case scenario. The game has proven it's safety measures work and can coexist with whatever measures are in place.
It's not just with football either, I think TV production for example will carry on through, for example when Melbourne went into lockdown Neighbours carried on filming.
Televised football is essential, I guess.
Winter would be even bleaker without any sport on offer.
There's enough testing in place now so don't think premier league will be stopped anytime soon unless hospitals start getting overwhelmed but let's hope that scenario dosen't occur.

Also not sure PL footballers would be a strain on the NHS. Most clubs would send them to private hospitals. Think PL football is the least of the worries.

I don't think football will stop again but 100% there'll be no fans in the stadium for another year.
Gnabry, Süle and Zirkzee are the reason why i don't believe that so many people have died because of the coronavirus.

Three of my friends were tested positive for coronavirus and their test were negative 1-2 days later.
The corpses have mostly just one test for coronavirus.
What killed them?
Wrong thread for that but "confusions" for the cause of death (For example lung infection and flu) are happening sometimes.
Even though this is a thread on the virus can we go a day without someone being madly ignorant about it?

It’s like footballers have to be babysat 24/7 to avoid doing anything stupid or irresponsible. And people always make excuses for it, like the vast majority of people don’t have to be far more responsible, despite not being worth millions to their employers.
At best that’s a £400k feck up, and it wasn’t a mistake (assume he’s on about 200k). He knew COVID is rife Egypt and still did it.
