Ignoring the spastic behavior of Phelan's shorts, that is quite a special goal
It's going out of my way because I am watching a film currently.
And I have no interest as I don't with any of our loaned out youngsters, if I see the goal on sky sports at some point then I may comment on it.
And i'm a prize tit for not rating him in any way.

no you're a prize tit for hating him for no reason.
Other than not rating him or his attitude.
Anyway I'm going to leave this thread now, and if it turns out that he makes it I will quite happily admit I was wrong, however if i'm proved right I expect some of you to do the same.

Imo Welbeck is a extremely talented player.Has bit of class about him.
You can compare him to how Nani has been for us until recently.
If he sorts out the decision making and all,he will be a one hell of a player.
I rate Welbeck from what I've seen, just don't think he will turn out to be a world class superstar. I think he may reach the level of someone like Darren Bent, i.e. a solid Premier League goalscorer that you can rely on to provide a certain number of goals all season long, every year, without being particularly brilliant at anything.
I think that's where all the doubts come from - people expect every single United player to be heads and shoulders about anyone else in their age category, like Rooney and Ronaldo were, but that's not going to happen.
Yeah, I think that's a good call. But even Darren Bent would be an asset to the United squad. He just would not starting the big games unless there were injuries.
Even Cold Boy rates him
surely thats further proof![]()

I believe that unless Wellbeck pushes on and proves himself next season then he's truly fecked. Most players that show his potential are thrown by the wayside if they don't improve vastly within a few years. The expectations are ridiculous, and soon he could find himself stuck at a lower club because he couldn't develop quick enough, which in itself is appalling. People develop at different times, that's just common fact.
Agreed. For me his consistency (especially in his touch), his awareness and his decision making are still too poor at his age for him to have a chance of making it at United.
The lad obviously shows a lot of quality in certain situations but i can't help but feel that the weaknesses he shows are the most difficult for footballers to overcome. I'm not sure if he will ever fix them.
Being "stuck at a lower club" could still involve being paid tens of thousands every week. Not exactly being "truly fecked".
I think that if we produce a British striker as good as Bent or Defoe, we will keep him at the club for a good few years. We made mistake with Rossi when we let him go to Villarreal but we won't do anything like that with Welbeck.
He wanted to be involved in first team football, that doesnt mean being a starter.
The problem with Rossi is that he wanted to leave for first team football, which we couldn't guarantee. We are not in the business of keeping players against their will.

and Cleverley scores for Watford as well.
Apparently Welbeck intecepted a back pass for his goal.
As long as he score, I do not mind how he did it - the more goals he get the better for his confidence
