Day 10: Belgium vs Tunisia, South Korea vs Mexico and Germany vs Sweden

Very happy after this match. We conceded two which wasn't great and until we win against a great side I won't start believing in our chances. But this was just a great match. We looked like scoring with every attack and despite scoring 5 it feels like we could've scored 5 more.

I just want our matches to be fun, and this one certainly was.

My point was that it was 2 different games with different psychologies going on.. England had 18 attempts and Belgium 23 today, not a big difference given that Tunisia were much more open. I doubt Belgium could have scored 12 either, has anyone ever scored near 12 in a World Cup match?

I checked and Hungary did it in 82, winning 10-1 vs El Salvador, which is suprising for me as i would expect to have occured in the 30s or something. But you also have to see the actual chances. I do recall Engalnd doing some pointless long range shooting. Even in their goal the attempt counted as 2 etc. Today, Batsuayi should had a hat trick alone (also Belgium stopped playing seriously after the first hour).

According to FlashScore Belgium haven’t lost a game since 2016 ? Is this correct ? Anyway people need to stop talking about dark horses there one of the favorites and rightfully so this is there golden generation.
Don’t think they will win it though.

Gotta say, of all the seeded teams, Belgium have actually turned up for this tournament. 8 goals so far, two decent games. Tunisia eliminated then.

Can't see anything but a comfortable Mexican victory next.

I've backed him for a hat trick two weeks running now. I reckon if I keep doing it he'll score 2 every game until the final.
Me too. Was sure he will score third in the second half, went out for a coffe with friends, came home now and find out the result, and big smile while looking for scorers, ..he was subbed, hell...

Not sure but got to say, Lukaku would have buried those chances that Batshuayi missed.
Why did you have to say this, why? Kidding. All right, there was 5 and 6 goals in the game, so happy enough. I want Rom to win Golden boot.

Who's the commentator on ITV?

"I like Wang"

They haven't played any of the big nations since then, except maybe Portugal which was a draw.

People said this same thing at the Euro's and they got dumped out easily by Wales of all teams.

I still find it impressive that chicharito is mexico's all time leading scorer. i have a soft spot for him.

By far the worst world cup I have seen for Arab teams. All got knocked out by round 2 and with mostly embarrassing results as well.

At least Vela looked up and picked a pass this time! Didn’t bother vs Germany

Ki is seriously like three fouls past a yellow card without seeing one

How complacent were Germany last week? The Koreans are showing here that if you maintain a back four against this Mexican side they aren't half as dangerous. Hernandez in particular, lacks the out and out quality to break down a good defence.

Mexico will probably go and score 5 now to make me look silly, but if Germany hadn't been so arrogant as to think they could go out and stuff Mexico with their fullbacks flying forwards at every given opportunity, they had more than enough quality to win that match.

Penalty all day long.

Just hope every player who makes a gaff like that doesn't get off the hook in future.

I thought Iran would count as an Arab team. Think both African and Asian teams are set to get about 9 extra places at 2026...
