Everton Vs Manchester United

2 points dropped, should have killed the game straight away. Berbs dissapeared, and what happed to Rio for that 10 minutes? Our dissapearance of creativity in the 2nd half meant that Everton were allowed to be organised, and took advantage of us.

Can't believe we are very probably going to lose more ground on Chelsea. Very difficult season coming up! We desperately need Liverpool to get something at Chelsea. Then IF we win on Wednesday it will be just the 3 point gap.

very dissappointing performance in second half, Phil Neville's challenge on Ronaldo turned the game for me, got their fans behind them and rattled us

Neville should have gone.....but where was our tackling in the second half?

and that Ronaldo shot...when he had the entire goal at his mercy.....sorry lad...Real wont buy you with the way you are playing now....

Well its a point. Fantastic 1st half performance but we're not killing off games. Today should have been dead and buried at half time. We've only got ourselves to blaim for dropping 2 points today.

I'm still unsure how Berbatov fits in our style of play, he does seem to slow our play up and there simply isn't as much movement as last season. Still a point away can't be sniffed at, they all add up and Everton played extremely well in the 2nd half so they deserve credit.

he played very well in the first, and was at the heart of all our moves, we were flowing and the movement was a treat on the eye, he has been instrumental in the past 3 games as well, now after one bad half he cant fit into our system.

Everton came out after the second half fighting and we jsut didnt come out, ferguson will feel annoyed but credit to everton, we didnt deserve the win so im not too annoyed just angry we werent more clincal in the first and a bit disappointed they didnt turn up in the second, but there is a kick up the arse if ive ever seen one. It will motivate the players to get the job done sooner in future.

I know we weren't great but when they started to mix it and put in the rough tackles the ref did nowt for us apart from feck the game up. It didn't look like he was going to send anyone off...

He's finding his feet in the team theres no doubt about that. But I have said it for a while, we are alot more static when he's on the pitch. I still rate Tevez, Rooney upfront more as they're far more mobile and use the full pitch, stretching defenders and causing more trouble. Berbatov at times is just too lazy and uninvolved, he's a great option to have, but he isn't an automatic starter in my book. I haven't seen him control a game yet the way a 30million striker should.

Normally I take heart from a draw, I like to take positives from getting a point in a match but TBH, this feels more like a loss today. At half time I was confident we'd come out the 2nd half, hopefully get that important 2nd goal and really put the game to bed but it didn't happen. We just seemed to fall apart in the 2nd half and nothing went for us. Ronaldo had a great chance towards the end but just couldn't put it away. I don't take heart from this today, I feel very disappointed and like I want to curl up and not see anybody the rest of the day :(

Tomorrow, let's hope for a fecking draw between the Renties & Dippers :nervous:

Feel the same as that.

We completely lost our composure when they started getting stuck in. Our defence lost the plot, Wes in particular had a shocking second half. Taking Rooney off was a big mistake, he wasn't even close to losing his rag...his yellow was a fcukin joke! Ronnie wasted a couple of decent chances, Nani took the wrong option every single time.

Game should have been over at half time - 2 points blown away FFS!

It's not so bad. We've got the toughest fixture list, after January we'll be able to go on a very nice run as we only have 2 tough away fixtures. We've had all our tough away fixtures in the 1st half of the season, so as long as we can keep close to the top 3 we'll be doing ok.

Oh yes I do agree. If we can keep up abouts near the top come the New Year, we've always got a great chance as our fixture list is much easier in the 2nd part of the season. All our games against the top teams are at home and our away games are easier than they are now so if we can get a great run together then we'll be right in the mix. Still, a draw tomorrow between Chelsea & Liverpool will ease the nerves a bit and then it wouldn't feel so bad from today's result. I can't wait until Weds night now, let's crush West Ham

Well its the truth.

We've already played: Portsmouth, Liverpool, Chelsea, Blackburn and Everton away. With Arsenal, Villa, Man City coming up before December.

Thats practically the entire top 10 from last season and we'll have played them all away before December.

You didn't mention Tottenham either.

Negatives:
- Dropping 2 points obviously
- Rio and Brown having poor days
- Ronaldo still missing chances he was scoring last year
- Berbatov didn't do much with the ball in the 2nd half

Positives:
- This was always a tricky game as Everton were back on an upswing judging by their performance for most of the game at the Emirates. A draw is no disaster. Just bad luck not to have played them a month earlier.
- Fletcher played really well again and was rewarded with a goal
- Rio hopefully has his one dodgy game a season out of the way
- 2 very winnable home games coming up to get back on track.

Well said. I am still concerned that we are not in the top 4 however. 8 matches, 15 points. We've dropped almost 10 points. That's a bit too much. Anyone have statistics from previous seasons?

After 8 games last season which took us to the end of September, we were 2nd in the table and in our 9th game we were top. I know we have the game in hand this season but god knows when that'll be played in all honesty. Although it should be said that by this time last season, we'd already played 11 league games so were up there at the top of the table whereas we've only played 8 games up until now. We need to get ourselves dusted off and get into gear by picking up 6pts from our next two matches which are both at home.

I thought Wednesday was our game in hand?

Agreed, well said.

Nope, every team is playing during the week.

Yeh, just checked now! I bought tickets weeks ago and just assumed it was our game in hand!

One hell of a battle between Chelsea and United this season. I hope Liverpool do us a favour at the bridge. I wouldn't like to go more than 3 points behind chelsea (assuming we win our game in hand, whenever that might be)

a few thoughts after this game which I didn't see it:

in my opinion you can not start an important game (away at Everton is in this category) with two players without technical abilities like Park and Fletcher...only if there is not another solution. Anderson was on the bench and Nani also. Plus the Brazilians kids...

I don't quite get this
Fletcher has been awesome for us the past several games and Park always does a great job when called upon. Plus even if we did start Anderson, we would have still started Fletch alongside him as you know that Carrick isn't quite ready yet, Hargreaves is still sidelined as is Scholes. Would you have prefered John O'Shea in the centre instead perhaps? :wenger:

Nani wasn't our undoing. Rooney playing wide in the 2nd half was. I hope SAF makes the lads get their finishing sorted out. Ronaldo and Anderson especially, both had good chances to put us through...
