Otherwise Leclerc looks good. Counting on a Ferrari special in the race :lol:
 
Now thats a interesting grid. Its facinating that we get really bumpy tracks, RedBull have to lift the floor up by a tiny amount and they end up back in the mix with the other teams, instead of being clear ahead.
 
Perez could potentially really start to cost RB next season if he doesn't sort it out as McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari (now Sainz has improved) have more consistent pairs of drivers, if other teams catch up they won't just be able to rely on Max
 
You’d still have to back Max to win. With their DRS advantage, and with how RB tend to set their cars up more for the race, and of course with just how well Max is driving, you’d expect him to gain places quickly. But that all assumes there isnt any T1 carnage.

The RB has the best tyre deg so that will help. Was suprised that max made two errors on the same qually lap in Q3 (T1 lockup and T19 going off track). You'd have thought he'd be more relaxed after winning the championship. Maybe it is track specific but it would be great if the gap is starting to close to RBs.
 
Does anyone know what the floor high difference is between RB and Mclaren/Ferrari/Mercedes? Cant be more than 1-2cm? Pretty amazing that they lose their considerable advantage by raising the floor by a cm or two. Ground effect for you.

Marko does think he has an explanation for the RB19's somewhat disappointing pace at the Circuit of the Americas, which is known to be very bumpy. Amazing qualifying, love it when you don't know who will get pole.

Interesting to see that for pretty much the first time this season (not counting Singapore when they were nowhere so he was never getting pole) the red bull wasn't significantly faster than the rest of the field and he made two big mistakes on his final flying lap. Maybe he's not as bulletproof as people think which is good news if we can get another team (or three) near them regularly.

I do think he will win tomorrow with the race pace advantage his red bull generally has.

Yeah this type of weekend will worry red bull more than others where max drives off. If they are having to fight for results and he's starting 9th what value does he bring.
 
The Sprint Shootout sets the grid for tonight's Sprint Race, which has the potential to be very exciting.

Nobody can accuse Sky sports of pulling it's punches.
 
The top 4 teams and arguably drivers all so close, F1 could be so good if the performance gap reduces in races.
 
That was so close, which is great to see. I still think Max will win fairly comfortably, but it's great to see McClaren continue to improve. Bodes well for next season.
 
How is it possible that Sainz's softs were slower than mediums after 5 laps? They look dead now.

For their sake I'd hope so. Max is once again going to be a huge threat if they dont maximize the benefit of starting higher up the grid. Or so it would seem to me anyway.
