Football Betting Thread 10/11

I would of done mate, but only got back from my Southampton trip via a few houses about an hour ago ;)

Ended my dry streak, had £2 on a 6fold at 70ish/1 but 2 games from yesterday postponed will bring it down a bit. Thank you Obinna

Feeling abit lucky so i decided to put 40p on Middlesbrough 8/13, Burnley 6/4, Watford 7/10, Rotherham 13/8, Arsenal 4/9, Chelsea 4/6, Man Utd1/3, Liverpool 4/7, ManCity 10/11, Blackpool 13/10, Bournemouth 8/11, QPR 8/15, Celtic 4/9, Rangers 1/2

MK Dons - Porto - West Ham for me tonight.

Also over 2.5's on - Porto/Benfica - Blackburn/Spurs - MK Dons/Rovers - Bolton/Wolves.

Hmm not the greatest.

Porto dicked at home, and not many goals about.

This is shocking on my part yet again - i should really get a screen shot - but i had 30 on Arsenal.

1.90 on betfair!
Mad odds.

Everton/Everton - Spurs/Spurs - Asenal/Arsenal - Utd/Utd

Looking good thus far.

Couldn't care less.

I'd rather United won the league than Arsenal won my bet!

Todays United result must mean a mass suicide on this weeks last man standing on Paddy Power, luckily I went for a Villa draw so will be interesting to see how many are left after tomorrows action

Had my first win in ages tonight, had £5 on Gibbo to score first and another fiver on Gibbo to score first and 3-0 full time

Combined winnings = £445

Wow! Fair play! I'm guessing you made up your losses. When you get a big win like that, even if it is only once a year, it makes it hard to give betting up.

Nice one, it wasnt a bad bet at all, I considered doing the same as I really fancied a 3-0 scoreline but went with Doyle to score anytime and Ireland -1 & -2 in the handicap. Think i would have prefered your odds though....

Haha cheers, yeah definately, betting is so stupid when you think about it, your essentialy only ever winning your losses back and whatever actual profit you get your most likely to end up gambling the equivilent of that away anyway!

Nothing beats that high when you win big though, even if it is just getting your losses back

What does the handicap mean? I've always avoided that due to it looking complicated

Betting is all good fun as long as you are not risking stupid money. I try to limit myself to £10 a week. If I win, I allow myself to bet with my winnings. I did get a bit carried away with the betting in the past but since I've given myself a weekly budjet, I've been doing quite good. It's almost worth losing some money to make an otherwise boring match more interesting.

The handicap is basically effecting the scores the teams start the game with. For example, say you are betting on the England game tonight, if you put money on -1 England, then for your bet to win England would need to win the game with the score starting 'England -1 - 0 Denmark'. If you get what I mean.

True, limiting myself to a certain number each week is something I havn't managed to do just yet, even when I put a limiter on my ladbrokes account I just ended up going to other betting sites!

Ah, it all seems so obvious now given the name xD Cheers for clearing that up for me

Won another £100 tonight :Don a -2 Scotland handicap no doubt (thanks Deco and unitedbhoy) Came so close to another £500 though as I also had 2-0 H/T 4-0 F/T! :argh:

Also had Kenny Miller 1st scorer and 3-1 F/T which would have got me £335 but strangely Paddy are saying that I won this bet even though that would mean my handicap would have lost, no pay from that yet but it's marked as a win and they are usualy quick to get rid of lost bets.

Haha, I havnt placed any new bets but i've got two rolling over from the 10 or so I made the other day, 2 accy's:

United to beat City
Suarez to score first for Liverpool v Wigan
Sunderland v Spurs Over 2.5 goals
Blackpool to beat Villa
Robbie Keane anytime scorer v West Brom
Arsenal v Wolves Over 2.5 goals

£5 returns £1,114

and Blackpool > Villa
Liverpool > Wigan
Spurs > Sunderland
West Ham > West Brom
Arsenal > Wolves
Stoke > Birmingham
United > City

£1 returns £265

Not too confident on the second but have reasonable hopes for the first one, heres hoping my lucky streak continues!

Valencia are a def for me.

P'boro and Charlton also look good value - along with Oldham and Northampton.

Just lost 20 quid on bloody City though :(

When I saw you bumping this thread I knew it would be to say Gattuso to get booked.
I have Ibra at 9/2 to score first.

haha not sure thats a good thing!!!

Nothing too heavy as its only the first leg. Probably do the same in the return leg especially if its all to play for. Should have done Crouch aswell maybe. His style tends to give away alot of free kicks in the champions league.
