I love these sort of games when the pressure is on us. Shows what we are made of. Will be interesting to see if Saha starts while the wounds are still healing at Fulham.
 
The pressure is on, we need to get ourselves together.

Give Ruud a break.
 
Stick Keane in defence and Butt next to Scholes in midfield. Ole up front to give him some action and give Ruud a break. I'm a bit wary of starting Djemba in the run in when he hasnt played top level in some time.
 
I don't understand why so many wants to rest Ruud. Sure, he was crap at Porto but he's a player that always seem to be at his best when he has something to prove. He scored three after the penalty miss against Arsenal. He scored three against Scotland. He had a poor run in October, only to score two against Rangers. In 2002/03 he four times didn't score for three consecutive matches only to score two against Zalawhatisit, two against Deportivo, two against Pompey and three against Fulham.

But then again, rest him now and he'll probably be on fire in the Cup and then again against Porto...

Ruud need a rest. Looks tired in the last 2 matches. I have faith in Ole :devil: What's the need of Saha if we can't rest Ruud?
 
Gaz is suspended, Micky is out. Beeb says Saha has a calf strain which may keep him out but I doubt it somehow.
 
Gary is out for all the domestic matches, Keane is out for the European match(es).

We would benefit from sticking to the same team from now until Porto with a settled line-up (i.e. no Keane in midfield since he won't play) and put Roy in defence so the only change in the team that needs to be made for Porto, is swapping Roy for Gary Neville who is available again.

We're screwed, what does SAF see in Forlan and Fletcher? I hope for the love of god we win today, otherwise the cafe's going to be swamped with more it's fergie's fault threads!

I'm confused now. I think it's Scholes and not Butt in midfield. And it's Carroll in goal. I think. :confused:
 
Have some faith guys, at least we are playing Ronaldo, he has done some good stuff on the right before.
Forlan anf Saha up front, quite a speedy attack.
Annyone knows what happened to Scholes??, not ewven on the bench, i hope he is just rested.

Yup, Howard, Giggs and Ruud on the bench, Carroll starts and Butt is not even on the bench.

...is he just resting them? Fletch & co can't play any worse than the big guns on wednesday. now they've got their chance to stake a claim for a first team place
 
Why are we resting our best players when we need them to play every match?
