Has political correctness actually gone mad?

Probably goes without saying but it varies.

I went to one recently up in Scotland (bloody long drive up from the Midlands!) and it was held in the town hall of lovely, quaint little Paisley. Everyone was seated in one area, I think it was the main hall.

And it was also one of the only weddings I've been to where they got someone to do a supplication for the newly married couple.
Whilst really not your posts point, I have never heard Paisley being described as lovely or quaint.

I don't know, muslims worship in seperate sexes in the UK, they even eat separately at weddings and so on. As do Hindus at some events. I'm not suggesting that's wrong in any way, just that it might be a bit unfair to single out some old Irish geezers.
Yeah probably, certainly wouldn't say they're the only ones, by a long stretch.

Suffolk alters signs after fears of animal cruelty confusion on the roads

“I had no idea – I had to stop the car and go back to see if I had read the sign correctly. It didn’t make any sense and seemed very gruesome that people would boast that poor domestic animals were being so horribly mistreated."

I've never heard of a road stud before. If I read the new sign I'd be confused.

Guy named Robert Lee was pulled of announcing the collage game on ESPN because of name.

So in the outcry the Egyptian students were able to attack people based on their race.

It's interesting to think about just what these Egyptian students would actually know about Ancient Egypt if a bunch of white men hadn't dedicated their lives to uncovering its secrets during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Look at all these liberal ***** getting upset...So what if she's been called a monkey/gorilla in the past and is now being called a man.

Just words...Stupid libtards. Get over it.

I think middle aged, Western males whinging about not being allowed to be offensive is actually what's gone mad.

Recently had long term friends moaning about the 'agenda' of - women's football, not being allowed to make homophobic jokes to bi-sexual co-workers, the damage that Black Lives Matter is doing to America - these are formerly sound minded geezers who I've known for many years.

I say this as a late 30s, Western male who likes footy, women and crude humour, I'm not a 'lib-tard', I'm not a 'feminazi'. But feck me if I'm not tired of hearing my peers whinging about not being given a free-for-all to spout their daft, increasingly bitter nonsense at a World that's changing and leaving their useless asses behind.

So yeah what about them Libtards, eh?

Yup. Completely agree.

Which isn't to say that there isn't a load of silliness and over-sensitivity out there coming from people with very different politics/opinions from your friends.

True mate.

I feel trapped between the two. Spent most of my adult playing in indie/punk bands in my spare time and around scenes like that, and I just feel such a disconnect with the crew who've basically taken over that area of culture - don't mean to sound classist, but upper middle class yuppie types wearing Doc Martens and philosophizing about various first world 'issues' ain't my idea of punk rock, but, at the end of the day, at least they seem to be approaching life from an inclusive view point.

I'd rather my son grew up in their World vision than a more right-leaning one.

It's the bitterness and lack of constructive input from many old mates that saddens me, and in some cases has lead to me drifting away from them.

In fact, in both cases I feel nothing in common with either really. I guess in times when new politic poles/extremes are defined, it's those in the middle who are the most isolated...

Well they've already turned the freaking frogs gay, so how do we know Michelle isn't a man. It's all part of the globalist agenda, by making you think Michelle is a woman they...they uhmm... well you know they just do things to brainwash the masses!

That sounds like a horrible place to go to. If I was a student paying to get an education there, I would be pissed that they had not simply been expelled for disrupting classes

Wow that sounds like South Park-style parody. I wonder how long you could converse with one of these protesters until you a. got accused of being racist/sexist/transphobic/cis or b. ripped your ears off and poured bleach in your eyes so you didn't have to bear witness to them anymore.

When Ms Peirce tried to speak, they shouted her down because they felt she had profited from violence against trans people and because she had cast Hillary Swank, a non-trans actor, as the lead.
It just goes to show that if you look hard enough you can be offended by anything.

This is a depressing read. Can you imagine how annoying these prats must be if you’re trying to get an education?

I work in humanities (fortunately on this side of the Atlantic where things seem a bit more sane), and this kind of thing makes me not only question if I want to keep doing this but also if I'd encourage my kids to take it up. This is not preparation for going out into the real world, it's the creation of a fantasy world where you can hide from or suppress everything and anything that can potentially upset you.
