Hull City vs. Manchester United

Its a tricky one this. You'd think Rio would get a run out as its been a few games since hes played. Rooney and Ronaldo would want a run out and you dont want them to have gone 10 games without a match.

At the same time, Hull will scrap for everything and it could put our players in risk of picking up an injury.

typo in the previous post btw. days, not games.

2nd string all the way for this one.

not too fussed if we lose, especially if Newcastle are winning.

No player that starts on wednesday should play.

My guess will be

Pig

Rafael, Neville, Evans and Fabio.

Nani, Fletcher, Gibson, Lee Martin

Macheda & Welbeck.

why no tosic

other than that , its the exact same team as what i'd want

I'd go with:

-------------Kuszczak -------------
Rafael------Rio-----Evans----Fabio-
---------Gibson----Fletcher--------
--------------Scholes---------------
Nani-------Macheda-------Wellbeck--

I reckon Rio and Scholes need some playing time to get them up to fitness as both haven't been playing much recently. But I'd take them off around the 60 minute mark, especially Rio.

------------PIG------------
Rafael Chester Evans Eckers
-Nani Fletcher Gibson Tosic-
-----Macheda Welbeck-----

Amos, Evans, Cleverley, Martin, Possebon, James, Dong

:wenger:

Alot of the younger players are playing in the blue star tournament in Switzerland including Amos, will they be back for Sunday?

Amos, Eckersley & Possebon are in the team to Zurich Blue Stars competition on Wed & Thurs. Looks quite a full schedule, esp if they reach the later stages over the 2 days - 4 group games of 40 mins each. Squad of 18. My guess is that Amos may make the bench on Sunday but not the other 2. And Chester is out injured for a couple of months already I believe.

I'd go for:-
Kuszczak
Neville Ferdinand (45 mins, then sub by Rafael) Evans Fabio
Nani Gibson Fletcher Tosic
Macheda Welbeck

Subs: Amos, Rafael, Martin, .....

i'd be happy with

-------------------kuszczak------------------
rafael----------evans-------rio-----------fabio
---------------------------------------------
nani-----------gibson--------fletcher----tosic
--------------------------wellbeck----------
-------------macheda------------------------

I don't want both Evans and Rio to play. Rio's enough, to prove his match fitness.

Besides that, great team.

SAF's confirmed that Ferdinand will be playing against Hull as he needs match fitness for next Wednesday.

Depending on who starts out of Berbatov & Tevez, we'll know who's starting in Rome

I don't think either will start in Rome.

VDS
O'Steady Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Carrick Scholes
Park Anderson Rooney
Ronaldo

is my guess for the final.

I can't see both Scholes and Giggs starting. Anderson is a dead cert with Fletcher out imo, the only question is Scholes or Giggs.
If Carrick and Scholes start then I don't think Anderson will. That combination has never worked for us. I have a feeling he'll have both Scholes and Giggs on - players who are so intelligent and experienced. Ryan had a bit of a mare against Arsenal but here are two player who will retain possession and make it count.

My biggest worry is do I take Evra and Rooney out my fantasy league team?

Not enough goals in that team depending on stats. But good passing play is key in this one.

PIG

Rafael
Evans
Rio
Fabio

Nani
Fletcher
Possebon
Tosic

Macheda
Wellbeck

Subs: Amos, C.Evans, Chester, Anderson, Petrucci, Gibson, Dong.

I wouldn't even risk PIG. If he got injured, we'd only have Amos as cover for a CL final

I think the team will be stronger than most people are predicting. Some players would prefer to get a run out rather than "rest".

I reckon Ronaldo and Rooney might well be on the bench at least.

It's the same team (minus Fletcher) that played against Arsenal when we scored 3.

First we'll look to contain Barcelona, then attack them imo.

United's bid to finish the Barclays Premier League season with a win could be boosted by the return of one or hopefully two England defenders.

Wes Brown is in contention for a start on Sunday afternoon against Hull City while Rio Ferdinand's chances of being involved look better after he trained and "did very well" on Friday morning, according to his manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sir Alex's team selection for the 38th and final fixture of the league season has been the subject of much speculation, given the game's proximity to the Champions League final and its importance to Hull and the other two clubs threatened by relegation.

As normal, the Reds boss did not reveal his line-up at Friday's pre-match press conference, but there was a hint it may resemble his FA Cup semi-final side...

"If I can trust them in a semi-final, why not trust them in the final league match when we have already won the title?" asked Sir Alex.

"Our league has the best integrity in the world. We'll play a part in that on Sunday. We'll go to win. Nobody should worry about that."

According to this, this is the squad..........

Team (from): Kuszczak, Amos, Neville, Brown, De Laet, Ferdinand, Chester, Eckersley, Simpson, Fabio, Nani, Fletcher, Gibson, Tosic, Martin, Drinkwater, Macheda, Welbeck.

cue media frenzy

And poor Nani, the only first team member who hasn't had an injury recently or is suspended for the final but still in the running to play this dead rubber.
