Lots of friendlies leading up to the World Cup.

Portugal, France, Mexico amongst others playing tonight.

Decent strike from Joao Mario.

0-0 France vs Ireland, almost half time.

Sidibe is playing.

Giroud breaks the deadlock

I was wondering where the thread was for all these friendlies.

Oh boy...Irish keeper getting tips from Lord Karius.

France 2-0, it has been coming for them. They dominated Ireland from the start. Good to see Balotelli reignite his international career, a goal on his return. Will be watching the Portugal vs Tunisia game closely since Tunisia is in our group.

Fekir's goal. Should give the Liverpool fans watching nice memories of what happened two days ago.

Is Pavard with four starts as RB this season supposed to be the french RB back up?

Possibly, Sidibe has been the starter so far but Pavard will take his spot soon enough, whether it's this tournament or soon after.

Difficult to say imo, looks like Pavard's focused position is at CB or to a lesser degree CDM. Not sure that I can see him challenging for RB in the NT of he's hardly playing there at his club.

He can't score a 1 on 1 to save his life but from outside of the box he's actually pretty good, I don't understand.

Tunisia's defense is pretty bad by the way, I think England will easily get out of their group.

CB is his preferred position, much like Hernandez on the other wing, but he's basing his international career similar to Thuram as a CB playing RB, because Umtiti and Varane are going to be the pair of CB's for the forseeable future and Sidibe is decent but definitely beatable for a starting job.

This guy is not normal. Basically a bad mistake/bad decision making in every game. Balotelli did well on his comeback, instead. If he can keep his head cool he is a great asset for us.

In our last 4 friendlies we drew 1-1 to the US, lost 3-0 to the Netherlands, won 2-1 against Egypt with 2 added time goals and now we draw with Tunisia.

We look like crap too, it's not just the result. Either we do our usual magic of stepping up when the games matter or we're fecked. Spain will spank us in the first game even if we play at our best.

To be fair, Portugal's looked like crap since the start of the Euro 2016.

Pogba on

I hate how Mbappé is trying to get all the focus on him, doing useless tricks all the time, he was awful tonight once again imo.

I thought he played fine, typical pre-world cup friendly. He was involved, created a few chances. The hate on how he is always trying to be the focus is completely off, he's shown that all season with Neymar and Cavani.

The one I really enjoyed seeing was Tolisso, he was all over the pitch and could do everything that was asked of him. Only his 7th cap but he will definitely be an important player. He makes Pogba a luxury at this point, rather than a necessity for France.

Ryan Giggs is so shit manager, his football is soo ugly, 1 shots on target against Mexico and off target 2, 30% possession.

That is what I thought yesterday, too. Tolisso was not the box-to-box-player that is more a job for him at Bayern when Thiago or James are the "playmakers" but offered a lot in that aspect yesterday, too. Very good side changes, balls that cut through midfield to one of the attackers etc. Was interesting for me as Bayern fan how he can used more in the future.

Argentina leading 1-0 against Haiti. This team just don't convince me they can win the World Cup, they have been very poor and they lack team cohesion. Their only goal is from Messi and even then, it's from a penalty. First top team they will face in the World Cup, they will go out.

Writing them off after the first game is a bit early.

The final result is 4-0. Messi gets 3 goals and Aguero gets 1.

Their squad is better than what Sampaoli had at Chile, which he won two Copa Americas with.

Mascherano still starting concerns me greatly, his legs have gone which will be big problem in knock out rounds. If he dosen't play Biglia comes in of course....

Sampaoli trolling the goalkeeping situation nicely aswell, is he just going to chuck Armani into the first world cup game without any warm up practice.

Dybala unused sub aswell so all the live issues remain.

I take all pre-World Cup friendlies with a grain of salt. Players trying not to get injured

The established - yes. But there will be others that fight for their inclusion in the 23-men-squad and into the starting formation. Those have to show up.
