International Friendlies May/June

I don’t watch the French league, but how is Memphis so good there? Whenever I watch him he’s still the same guy who is a bit too slow in his decision making, easily dispossesed and shite in general.

He's on a better team now, so he has more opportunities.

Wait for it, wait for it...

He's still a bit shit on the ball but had good movement, finishing and set piece delivery.

Suarez and Cavani gonna slaughter us with how we're defending these crosses.

France don't seem to be playing out through the middle very well. Kante is good at winning it back, but they need someone to dictate tempo there and string the little passes together. Pogba is good at spraying the ball out and finding clever little through balls, but that midfield needs more presence there. I wonder who could step in and do the job.

Edit: I didn't even notice Tolisso was on the pitch. Isn't he supposed to be good at keeping things ticking?

Looked a pen to me too. The trip was definitely inside the box so I don't know why it wasn't given after the VAR. Strange one.
I guess the right leg/upper body foul was outside and left leg foul inside the box.

Tolisso has been fairly invisible this first half, complete opposite of his game against Ireland where he was everywhere. I personally prefer a midfield with him, Matuidi, and Kante.

If Zidane coaches France, I have no doubt they would win the World Cup. One of their biggest weakness is their mentality and they would always choke in the later stage as evidenced by them losing to Portugal at home in the final of Euro 2016.

I love American commentators."Mbappe very very accurate there" after the highlight shows him miss the target.

Mbappe diving in a friendly.

There are people that think Dembele isn’t good enough to start for Barcelona and that they’d be stupid enough to sell him

There were even rumours about a loan :wenger:

Based on his performances for France as well as United, I maintain we should sell Pogba whilst his stock is still high. As great as he sometimes is, he's such a luxury player, something we really can't afford at the moment. He'll soon be out of the France team.

Everyone know what Dembele was about to try still goalie couldn't get anywhere near it. Brilliant Execution!

French public acting like dimwits, mocking the italians.

Balletoli missed a straight forward header. Lot of miss placed passes from France in the second half. Italy missed to make them count.

I maintain we should sell Pogba (for his own development) and forego signing any other high skill players whilst Mourinho is still in charge. But I do enjoy the dubious daily Pogba takes on the Caf.

What, Pogba is having a terrible match as usual ? I'm not watching.

This France generation of players are so insanely talented. It would be a shame if they don't win a major trophy. They really should be targeting to win the World Cup and the European Cup was basically theirs to lose. Hopefully their heartbreak from Euro 2016 drives them to go far in the World Cup.

Is the France game on the telly? I had a quick look through sky and the likes and didn’t see anything?

Pogba's just been dreadful.

I agree. He has been so lazy and ineffective. He was finding the occasional through ball in the first half, but he can't even seem to finish simple one twos in the second. Kante is covering space for him, he doesn't even bother to jog into good positions. His head isn't in the right place.

The little moment between Caldara and Matuidi is exactly why someone like Matuidi is great in a group, he is just a great character.

It's really baffling that a player with so many good attributes and skills, capable of pretty much doing everything well (offensively at least) can be so invisible. He really needs to step it up if he wants to be a starter in the world cup, as I said earlier right now I would take Matuidi, Kante, and Tolisso.

The difference between him and Rabiot is striking! :D
That's one thing Deschamps got right.
