International Friendlies May/June

This game again highlights how crucial for us is to upgrade on Young this summer, every attack dies down at his feet.

Would this formation suit us (United) going forward I wonder?

Three narrow attackers roaming, lots of space for full backs.

Who do England have selected as their tournament LB’s/LWB’s I’ve only just started watching from 37 minutes and 3x already Ashley Young has done an Ashley Young and killed 3 moves. Just go down the line Ashley squire, there is space, you’re not slow, go at it.

Main problem was no creativity to unlock teams that park the bus. Lingard and Sterling seem to be helping with that.

Beyond that though, we are much quicker at moving the ball around than what we were. Walker is also stepping up in playing the ball out and he's often slipped into midfield as Dier covered.

It generally makes us harder to mark and the skillset of our centre backs mean we aren't hoofing it mindlessly anymore. We could have scored 4 or 5 already.

It’s incredibly frustrating, remicent of us playing.

Glad I held off buying the Nigeria kit. Won't buy a football shirt that I can only wear for the 3 group games. Germany?

Thought Nigeria would be better. It seems Iwobi and Moses are their most talented players. England have been good but wasted far too many good opportunities.

Rose and Delph are on the bench but I think Delph is seen more as a midfielder for England.

Our weakest area at the moment but maybe next year Sessegnon could play as a wingback.

England actually playing some good stuff here. Nigeria are poor but I doubt Panama will play better having seen them play. England might get caught out against Tunisia if they don't finish their chances because I think Stones is suspect at the center of the back 3.

England look very well drilled and a decent outfit.

Alli looks like a pub player though, I normally really rate him but he’s having a stinker.

There's Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester) too, but he's on the bench, I think.

Why are the Nigerian fans booing Ali?

His Dad is Nigerian and his mum English. He lived in Nigeria as a kid for a while but somewhere along the way he ended up living with English adoptive parents and has rejected both his birth parents. His dad has spoken to the press about it. I suppose they feel he has rejected his Nigerian heritage or something.

Ah that makes sense. Thank you.

Even they know he is a cnut?
I did wonder!
