Kind of wanted to Swiss to win because I don’t think we’ll beat Portugal on their own patch if we get through. Switzerland play a tidy game but lack the quality in the final moments that Portugal has.
Whats sad about that is he played bad too.

Ronaldo still looks quality. This Portugal team will be plumelled by either England or the Dutch team if they don't get their act together. The midfield and defence looked so average. Only Bernardo and Ronaldo can say they have a good game.

Jose didn't fancy him because he wasn't tall or physically strong. I loved Blind, even though he wasn't a world beater, he was extremely professional and was consistent. Van Gaal called him his most reliable outfield player in an interview reflecting on his time with us recently.
Don't worry about that. I doubt you will beat the dutch. If you do, you have a chance. Portugal isn't that impressive. Bernardo and Ronaldo saved us. Pepe out will be a big blow.

Having Ronaldo is like having a complete team on its own. Literally any ball in and around the box is like a sitter for him.

I think we have a chance against the Dutch, it just depends on how the Champions League hangover affects us. I think Southgate should perhaps only play Henderson from those in the final.
We beat them 1-0 at their place about 15 months ago quite easily. They have got better since then granted but it was mostly the same team they have now. De Ligt played right back though and I think De Jong was still with the u21s then, however.
I guess they have the momentum somewhat with their renaissance since then but they won’t look to stink the place out so there should be space for our pacey forwards.

That midfield needs to change, Neves had that incredible ball for the 2-1 but I want Moutinho to play instead who is more mobile and energetic without the ball. William was solid and he has experience so he should stay. Felix was disappointing and I love shitting on him but I liked was he was doing tactically and I think him and Ronaldo together have potential. Not really fair to judge him on a 60 minutes debut when it was a very slow and cautious game.
As for the ref, I think if he hadn't fecked Switzerland up in the World Cup that penalty doesn't get called. That's a decision worth two goals. We got fecked by the referees in our two past games in qualifying, got thrown into the worst part of the draw at the WC due to a nonexistant last minute penalty and now this? We need to get a break.

Depressing isn’t it. 100000 Spurs and Liverpool fans in Madrid and no trouble but it kicks off when England have a game in cheap tourist destination.
I always say it but I wish the FA would campaign against this kind of behaviour with the players helping. Nothing really seems to be done about it.
It was in Aliados, right in the middle of Porto too. Don't know if it's true but I was told they had to close the zone for the fans.

They did launch a campaign but ultimately the kind of people who do this kind of stuff aren't going to be changed by it, these people know its wrong they just do it anyway.
The only thing they'll understand is being punished, anyone caught throwing bottles etc should be given an instant banning order, hefty fine. When enough of them get charged, word might start to spread through the morons that going abroad isn't some kind of free for all where you can act with impunity. The improvement in England fans before was largely in the banning orders preventing people travelling, that's what needs to happen again.

Don't think so. In tournaments it never happened. I only remember playing you guys in qualification one time, think it was 2000 WC qualification. We drew 2-2 away in an incredible game.
Not good sign from two supposed United transfer targets; Felix and Fernandes. Even worse, the old target Carvalho looked totally average, and clumsy. Felix, perhaps being debut and the tactic didn't suit him is understandable. Maybe Fernandes too, but some rash tackles and poor passing, simply not worth the high price. Hopefully, they will play better next match.

Also to be fair we seem to kick England around pretty often. England and Netherlands usually can’t beat us. Don’t even know the last time England beat us. We knock them out all the time
