Internationals March (Euro Qualifiers + Friendlies)

Genuinely think our starting striker is better than Spain's.

Brazil only drawing 1-1 with Panama, thought this would've been a 5 or 6 nil job.

One of the worst results in their history?

Brazil playing this on neutral venue (think it looks like Oporto) and still getting whistled off.

How is Morata still an international level striker?

Is he really the best Spain have in that position?
:( yes, unfortunately Morata and Rodrigo are the best we have.
Diego Costa has too many physical problems to offer continuity

It's just a friendly. They've got to have a pretty high tolerance for shit results at this point.

Wtf Ødegaard

This is really boring. I expected Norway to do better against Spain's B team. It looks like they are finally awake now though, before the goal they were just strolling around.

Norway are not meant to play football :(

Look on the bright side, we'll return to smashing everyone in the winter sports tomorrow.

Good save Jarstein.

People need to stop thinking of Norway and the 90s in terms of football, btw. Outside of that we’ve never been in Championships, outside of 36 olympics. We had an abnormally good crop back then.

Edit: in the 90s, I mean. Though supposedly we had a world class player in Arne Brustad, back then.

Tarik is so shit

You literally had to sit down and think about how not to score from that

Spain team looks pretty mediocre to me.

Navas at RB, can understand for his club but guy is 33 although Carvajal is of course first choice when fit.

Inigo Martinez never really lived up to his promise, just a mid table CB.

Ramos and Busquets will probably play one more tournament. Parejo can be o.k but lacks consistancy, Ceballos not really played much and obviously weaker upfront than 10 years ago.

Actually amusing looking at their bench as it has quite a retro look to it. Didn't even know Mata had been called up by Spain, felt like years he was last called and you also have guys like Munian and Canales who are good players but never made the breakthrough they were both tipped for 5 years ago. Surprised guys like Rodri and Saul aren't starting.

Think Euros 2020 will go similar for them as last three tournaments.

Edit: It's wierd to me now looking at some of the major nations now and thinking yes England do actually have better options in many areas of the pitch than they do (thought this also when looking at Germany squad). Of course England actually have to back it up and win a tournament in next six years.

Don't Norway have the play offs as fall back option?

Difficult to say they'll finish top 2 when Spain and Sweden are in the group but Lagerback is excellent coach for national teams so I do think you're on the right path to making a major tournament again.

You do realize that the Mata that is on the Spain bench is not Juan Mata, right? It is Jaime Mata, same age as Juan but an unknown who has had a late career rise to the top.
