It seems inevitable that if Ole is to be sacked, Poch will get the job. No doubt he is a better coach than Ole and I am not going to be discussing about his lack of trophies and everything. But it seems some really have a wrong notion that this guy has his team play some swashbuckling football which dominates big teams like City or Liverpool. I wouldn't say his style is boring but is he really what the fans want in terms of style of play.

if you look at Poch's Spurs side at their peak I have massive doubts AWB, Maguire and Shaw fit into that
Not for me. Ridiculously overhyped. His teams are soft as feck, the style of play isn't anywhere near as good as the armchair experts claim, and his big game record isn't anywhere near good enough.

Poch could well be the man to get the best out of Shaw tbh. Or if we play 3-5-2 Telles would be playing there I'd imagine.

He's good at setting up off the ball pressing and knows how to coach the team to move the ball up a pitch, which is a ginormous improvement from right now. He did brilliantly with Southampton, and did really well with Spurs before that squad reached its end with him and needed a refresh. He's absolutely a good choice for us right now. Will it win a title? Who knows. But it's a step in the right direction, is much better than what we've had from a coaching perspective since Sir Alex, and we have a very good squad that is just in dire need of some coaching.
I wonder the idea Ed will try to sell with Pochettino. With Ole it was cultural reset
Have some of you forgotten what the man did for Tottenham? They were perhaps the best team in England to watch in England for two years and he has been in more title races then we have have for the past 8 years.

Yep. I actually think if he comes now he won’t even last beyond the current season. We have 1-3 days to prepare between games. So this season even more than in normal seasons it’s all about results. But he can only get results with his plan A which needs to work well - but we don’t have the time currently to implement it.
Then even if he implements it, more and more teams in the PL can now cope with high press. And more and more teams - even mid table and lower teams - have nowadays at least 1-2 players who will punish you if you are being naive. Our games under Poch will probably be similar to those under LvG.
I would prefer Hasenhüttl to Poch and I believe he would also come if we approach him. But I doubt we are going to approach him. We will go for Poch and fail miserably (unless Poch has somehow reinvented himself during his long unemployment period).
Maguire would be fine I think but we don't have the attacking fullbacks or a Kane who were crucial to his best work. Given our lack of RW Bruno could play the Eriksen role I suppose, VdB - Alli?
He has to adapt if he has to be successful here. Klopp did that. He cannot just hope to work the same formation he used at spurs and hope to be successful.

Didn't he say trophies only build egos? He doesn't seem to have that eagerness to win trophies. For someone like that it's best he stays away from us because he's going to feel constant pressure and all he'd be hearing is how he needs to win trophies with us
He's the best transition from Ole, nothing is guaranteed but he's a great coach. He's definitely the best option in my opinion. This Ole can turn it around notion needs to end, it's like groundhog day. The lack of consistency is not near good enough, can't be trusted. I don't trust these players but mentality is a reflection of coaching.

I think he’d done all he could with Spurs, and winning that CL final would have probably capped it off for him to leave on the highest possible note (next to winning the league) and move onto a bigger job.

We're looking for the evolution of the team next: being greater than the sum of its parts. Our next step is being consistent, especially with regards to Champions League qualification. This Poch can do and has done.

Wasn't he in charge when Spurs kicked the crap out of Chelsea (Iirc) for 90 minutes? I remember them having a real scrap with somebody under him.

He'll drill the players, make them have double sessions, weed out the weak players and cut the mistakes. I think there's still a long way to go offensively but when it comes to off-the-ball work he'll take our players to another level.
He would improve it. His reputation has always been improving the players he has - I would argue that's the biggest issue with our squad.

We have a midfield with Bruno & Pogba ffs! & our first choice front 3 is exciting as it gets; we start £200mil+ of defender/gk but look clueless there.
We really should be coached better.
