Jose : "They are not the last wonder of the world like you say they are"

 amazing! What a guy. A reminder tonight of why he is arguably the best tactician in the game.

That was Batman-esque from Jose.

Got into Liverpool heads on and off the pitch. Real real shame we didn't score that chance.

Good quote. They looked very average today, which is nice after all that hype about how they were going to do us 4-0 (which I'm also guilty of).

It's true, Liverpool have been getting massively overrated this year on the basis of beating Arsenal's reserves, a poor Leicester side and Chelsea on a bad patch.

Liverpool have over the years produced similar big game performances away from home, would think this was the first time they have done so this season.

We successfully parked the bus against them, managed a mighty 35% possession and created all of one chance.

Oh yes, we fecking showed them didn't we.

You don't agree that he completely shut down one of the most in form teams at the moment?

So shutting them down is our aim and job done for a world class manager like jose and a team like united with so many stars and expensive players in it?

Should we celebrate?

Blimey. Settle down. If we'd have nicked a couple of goals against their press, then perhaps this sentence wouldn't look so silly. But it was a 0-0 draw, and Liverpool weren't really up to much. They were worse in the first half than we were in the second. It wasn't a result to rave about.

Tonight?

Really?

Was a drab match where we drew away.

Tactics were spot on. Up top our players didn't offer enough, Rashford had a real off day as did Zlatan and Pogba so you can't exactly blame Jose for that.

Honestly I have blamed the manager for every poor performance until now, but tonight's lack of chances was more down to Zlatan, Pogba, and Rashford having stinkers more than anything. If we can play like today with some more incentive up top with a Micky/Mata creating as well as a Martial with pace, we could have a great season.

Not sure downplaying Liverpool's quality makes sense when we're mostly all happy to have come away from there with an ugly draw.

They have a good run of fixtures coming up. I don't expect the hype around them to die anytime soon.

Huh? Parking the bus makes you the best tactician in the game?

Parking the bus means inviting pressure. We pressed high and totally nullified them. It is called tactics against a home side which at the moment is pretty free flowing and pushing well above their weight. You do this and then you get one or two chances in the game and see it out, like we would have if Zlatan scored.

Fair enough.

My worry is we've spent literally hundreds of millions and our new players look poor again.

Raving? Didn't mention anything about the result. Simply admiring his attention to detail and adjusting to changes in the game.

If only football was that simple, eh?

I am sure all the bottom half team does it with shit players. So sometimes they lose because of it. Should we call all their managers, good tactician or even master tacticians when they draw against top half teams?

You must have missed the majority of the game, because L'pool did the square root of feck all for the first 60 minutes of the match. We should have created more, but chances in games like that a few and far between. For all the prematch hype surrounding the Scouse, they were fecking woeful for large parts of the game.

I'd estimate 15/19 Premier League teams to go to Anfield this season will lose, it's obviously not as simple as just saying "let's park the bus". He set the team out well with a gameplan, and executed it well throughout the match. Tactically a lot of managers would have lost out there tonight.

Surprise surprise

Oh come on.

I have been absolutely fine this year. I've supported us. I've been getting behind the team. But all last year we heard "if we had Jose we'd be top four now" but it just hasn't happened. We've done the double over Liverpool the last two years, that's tactical genius. (Genius is a strong word, I regret that)

Who cares about the money, we have plenty of things to be excited about this season. We will get much better, still early days. The only way is up!
