What is the Lib Dems stance on cease fire in Gaza?
They've been calling for one. One of their senior MPs is a British Palestinian. What is the Lib Dems stance on cease fire in Gaza?
In my area, Lib Dems have a decent chance of winning so I will need to see what other things they stand for. Unfortunately I don't expect much considering how they were in the coalition government. They've been calling for one. One of their senior MPs is a British Palestinian.

Really? I haven’t seen anything yet. A friend of mine did a review of most of the major parties and said Green Party is the only one that called for one. They've been calling for one. One of their senior MPs is a British Palestinian.
Yes, Layla Moran. Was that the MP grilled by Richard Madeley about whether she had been briefed by Hamas about the 7 October attacks?
I think the caveat was a 'temporary' ceasefire, read what you will into that.Really? I haven’t seen anything yet. A friend of mine did a review of most of the major parties and said Green Party is the only one that called for one.
Very disappointing from Starmer. I would hope a huge majority of Labour MPs disagree with him and warn him they will act if he continues in the same vein. The best way to avoid further violence and bloodshed is to continue a war.

I am genuinely contemplating voting Tory to get rid of Keir but then I remember Patel, Suella, Gove, Hunt, etc. being part of the Tories. Plus I am sure Keir has factored in the votes he would gain or lose by having this stance and is pretty confident of a win.
That's nuts. Voting Tory can never be the answer.I am genuinely contemplating voting Tory to get rid of Keir but then I remember Patel, Suella, Gove, Hunt, etc. being part of the Tories. You'd vote for a party that is even worse than Keir (and I imagine even further away from your political stance) in order to get rid of Keir?
I know Tories are worse in every way but if the margin of Keir's victory is reduced may be he doesn't move to the right on every policy as he has been doing. I don't know how to make my vote count to put that point across. That's nuts. Voting Tory can never be the answer.

Yia this is my view as well. I could never understand Eboue, why he wouldn't vote for Democrats over Trump, being the lesser of two evils. Now I understand him perfectly.Labour has become our version of Democrats. Hypocrites basically.
Totally agree.Honestly, he's beyond contempt. Every single day there's something which absolutely grates with me. I feel sorry for those who think it's all an act so that he can be PM. Time and again, he's showing you who he is. It's not an act.
Yep, I've always found this retort of 'voting anything but Labour is a vote for the Tories' to be painfully reductionist and frankly condescending. The only basis behind a genuine democracy is to vote for who you think is right, not who is the least awful. I don't want to vote for a Starmer led government, but that doesn't mean I'm pitching in with the Tories either.Yia this is my view as well. Seeing what he does with the little power he has now, as Labour leader, I shudder to think the way he will treat people who don't agree with him once he becomes PM.Totally agree.
Starmer is deceptive, authoritarian and lacks vision. He will be a terrible PM.

My main worry is how dictatorial he has been while running the Labour party. thousands of life time Labour members kicked from the party. I fear how he will treat any who show descent once he has judicial power behind him.I think he will be beyond useless. Dithering and going back and forth on every decision, before being booted out at the next election.

His authoritarian streak has always worried me greatly, even before he abandoned every pledge he was elected on and we ended up where we are now. I've always feared that he's capable of some seriously terrible draconian legislation being enacted and his actions and pronouncements over the last couple of years have done nothing to calm that fear.I think he will be that draconian in relation to the Labour Party. I just think he will couple that with a stunning level of incompetence elsewhere.
Agree, although I think abstaining opens its own can of worms. We should exercise our vote in any context.Yep, I've always found this retort of 'voting anything but Labour is a vote for the Tories' to be painfully reductionist and frankly condescending. Abstention is also a virtue of democracy, while the consequences might be extremely unfortunate, so would my conscience being held culpable for directly propping up someone who I'd always hold in contempt. At least I'd have control over the latter.
I was considering the Lib Dems, but I think they've pulled out of my consistency under some sort of 'understanding' with Labour, regarding marginal votes making all the difference.Agree, although I think abstaining opens its own can of worms. We should exercise our vote in any context.
I've been a Labour vote my entire life - and, in light of recent events, I'm now considering Green or (marginally considering Lib Dems).
It's crazy how Keir might not win the next GE given just how awful, incompetent and despicable this Tory government has been. The next GE should have been an open goal for him, but he's managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Keir is a lot of things, but I don't think he is stupid. He must have the data to show that supporting Israel no matter what is his best chance to win the election.Agree, although I think abstaining opens its own can of worms. We should exercise our vote in any context.

This is the most hostile public reaction Starmer has ever faced.
