La Liga - 2012/2013

Fantastic counter attack by Sevilla. 4 for Negredo.

Real Sociedad won 5-2 away and 4-2 at home against Valencia, have a better goal difference and have scored more goals.

As I said before, Sociedad really proved they deserved the spot when they humilliated Valencia this season. Would have been a shame for them to fall short now. At the same time Valencia had a good run of 4 wins on the bounce recently and started todays match well with a great goal, hit the bar and should have had a penalty for sure. But in the end Valencia's same old terrible defending is going to cost them as well as obviously, the ref

Banega, Guardado, Soldado, Joao Pereira are all good players.

Where is Negredo going? There's been a lot of talk this game about this being his last game for Sevilla, but I can't remember seeing him being linked with anybody.

Valverde apparently told the Valencia team tonight that this is his last match as their coach.

Odd as it might sound, 9th placed Sevilla may get Spain's third Europa League place - Malaga are banned and Rayo Vallecano may not be allowed to enter.

As things stand tonight, RS get the CL spot and it's Celta who survive.

He's linked with (finally) playing for Real Madrid - especially if Benzema goes as well as Higuain. Otherwise Everton, Spurs and even Dortmund (if Lewandowski leaves) are in the rumours.

Had sociedad just come back up this season or the one before?

I've been watching Griezmann for three seasons now so it's at least their third season.

Could be tricky for them to get to the group stages. They will be unseeded. It looks like they will be playing one of the following.

Zenit St. Petersburg
Arsenal
Olympique Lyon
AC Milan
Schalke 04

they have at least 6 games for sure at the champions league... must be really awesome for their fans and players. If they finish 4th in their group, i dont think is too bad for them really.

underrated team anyway... they played some nice football these year, and if they can hold on to their best players, they have a chance to go through.

Why do they for sure? They finish 4th meaning they could get any of those teams just mentioned in the qualifiers. 2 for sure, but if they draw anyone other than Schalke, Lyon or Zenit I wouldnt fancy them.

Wish I had watched all this last night. Sounded like some cracking games.

It's a crazy and unpredictable league outside the top 2.

It really is a great league, very underrated by people who barely watch it and blabber about 'pathetic defending'.

When teams get 4th they always forget they need to play qualifiers to get into the competition properly, same thing with Everton hopefully they don't get too tough of a draw.

In amongst last night's goodbyes was one from Osasuna's keeper, Ricardo López. He's retiring - at 41 years and 154 days he now has the record as La Liga's oldest ever player.

Meanwhile in Liga2 - with two games left to play (today and next weekend) Elche are promoted as champions. The second automatic place is still a scrap between Villareal, Almeria and Girona.

It's amazing that In previous years, the difference between Ronaldo and everyone else would be considered massive, yet you then see the difference between him and messi in terms of goals per games and it is truly staggering.
