La Liga 2013-2014

They deserved it until they started time wasting and acting like children. They honestly didn't need to.

They deserved it until they started time wasting and acting like children. They honestly didn't need to.

They'll do it every game. Its demanded of them and they've been given no reason to stop it

Welcome to La Liga, but you knew that all clubs do that didn't you. It was a deserved win, but the cynical fouls by both sides, the playacting by both sides, and everything else that goes with La Liga.

Well no, not all clubs do that.

Good to see the Real players being good sports at the end, except one who just walks off.

Courtois pathetic. Cant even pick up the ball and tries to get Bale in trouble feigning injury

Not like Bale hasn't got people in trouble in the past by feigning injury himself.

Best of the four games I've watched today - certainly the best result.

Though Costa is almost worse than Suarez

I think at least Pepe, Arbeloa, Ramos and Di Maria try to cheat as often as the Atletico players

Aye they are all as bad as each other. Sheer cuntery throughout that match. You can never feel sorry for a side that contains Pepe and Ramos.

I'm happy real madrid have lost, why not? so many twats, the only good thing about them at the moment is ancelottie.

That went completely according to form. Atletico doing what they do well, with drive, with organisation and some very decent players. And as much as I despise Diego Costa, he is a one-man attacking army in a game like this and no, I'd still loathe him if he played for us (I'd just close my eyes during the replays)

Real Madrid lackluster and sluggish, and their plans A, C, D and E killed by Ronaldo having a poor game.

Plan B for Benzema is scarcely worth a mention - it seldom is. His most memorable moment was the bit where he got into a slanging match with Arbeloa, Pepe and Ramos.

Athletico have only one cnut; Diego Costa. Whereas Real have Arbeloa, Ramos, Pepe, Di Maria who are cnuts too.
All I'm saying it wasn't necessary for Atletico to resort to that when they've played an excellent game. It just taints all the effort they've put in. It also slowed down the game interrupted the flow. If they played a clean game I'm sure Real Madrid would have had more opportunities to score and level it up. I know it's fair game but it's destroying what football should be.

Ronaldo: "The explanation? Simple, we didn't play well.
Sooner or later we were going to lose. La Liga will be tricky. We have to keep working.
We have a great team. We need to have the right, winning mentality.
It's not Ancelotti's fault, it's the players."

Doing his (not the) captain's job in the after match.

Simeone: "We don't have the money or the quality of players that Madrid and Barca have. But we've got a team and we keep working at that."

So after 7 jornadas, only Barça, Atléti and Villarreal (!) remain unbeaten.

Barça and Atléti both on 21pts. (RM on 16, Villarreal 14 but with a game in hand, away to Betis which I'd be surprised to see them win but they've been having a wonderful start to the season).

Messi and Diego Costa lead the scoring charts with 8 goals each.

Fàbregas and Koke lead the assisting charts with 6 assists each.

IMO best/most outstanding players so far:

Goalkeepers: Valdés, Kiko Casilla, M.A. Moyá and Diego López

Defenders: Godín, Musacchio, Gurpegi, Filipe Luis, Edu Albácar and Alberto Moreno

Midfielders: Cani, Koke, Fàbregas, Victor Sánchez, Isco, Tissone and Fede

Forwards: Diego Costa, Messi, Suso, Neymar and Sergio García
