Gazz---Rio--SIlvestre---JOSH

----Keano/Butt----Djemba

Ronaldo-----Scholes----Giggs

Altough we may see Forlan or Fortune in the squad in the 1st half instead of Scholsey.

I predict a

3:1 united

Ruud 26'
Ruud 37'
Ronaldo 67'

Telegraph match preview makes for uneasy reading...

Leicester v Manchester United 3.00

Leicester
4-4-2
Walker
Curtis Sinclair Taggart Rogers
Scimeca Izzet Nalis Impey
Dickov Bent

Van Nistelrooy
Giggs
Fortune P Neville Keane Scholes
O'Shea Silvestre Ferdinand G Neville
Howard
4-4-1-1
Man Utd

LAST SIX: Leicester DLDLWL Man Utd WWWLWD

FITNESS TESTS: Leicester: Scowcroft (hip), Thatcher (flu). Man Utd: Scholes (hernia). OUT: Leicester: Deane (hamstring), Elliott (toe), Ferdinand (knee), Gillespie (ankle), Hignett (hamstring). Man Utd: Brown (knee), Kleberson (dislocated shoulder), Solskjaer (knee).

REFEREE: A D'Urso. Games: 3, Y16, R1.

ODDS: H: 6-1 (W), D: 13-5 (L), A: 1-2 (C).

The good thing about Leicester is that they know their limitations. They know their strengths, too, which include putting teams under pressure with quick, direct football. Marcus Bent and Paul Dickov could conceivably cause trouble. Even so, the champions have more than enough going forward to make Leicester sweat, including a fired-up Ruud van Nistelrooy aiming to put behind him that penalty miss against Arsenal.

- John Ley and Alan Smith

I have to say I think they got that wrong. 4-4-1-1 is not accurate enough. I can not imagine, with Ole out and Scholes doubtful, Ronaldo sitting on the sidelines. That would be a travesty. We may have Keane, Phil and Fortune sitting behind Giggs and Ronaldo with Scholes added to the fray later on. IMO.

If there was there was ever a time to win convincingly, this is it! I realize that Leicester is not to be taken lightly, because they really are not a bad side but United should be able to win.

Yeah, we obviously have a chance. But Leicester have been solid right through the team. Haven't lost at home all season and made things difficult for Chelsea and Liverpool. Could make things difficult for us. In fact, they could get a draw. :nervous:

-----------------Timmy----------------

Gaz----------Rio-------Mikael---------O`shea

Fletch------Keane--------Scholes-----Ronaldo

--------------Giggs------Ruud

Subs:
Djemba
Forlan
Fortune
Paz
Carrol

Could this be our lineup today?
Maybe Paz instead of Keano, but in my opinion Paz could do with a rest now, he´s started every game so far (including internationals?) and done well in most so he deserves a breather (not so sure he wants one tho :))
Great to focus on football again, after a week of talking about "the incidents"..... :D

This is how I reckon we'll line up:

---------------Timmy--------------

---Gaz-----Rio----Silv-----JohnO---

--------Keane--------Fortune-------

--Fletcher------Scholes------Giggs--

----------------Ruud----------------

Bench:
Carroll
Phil
Butt/Djemba
Ronaldo
Diego

I think SAF will take this opportunity to blood Fletcher. I've got Fortune partnering Keano, but it could just as easily be Phil.

Personally, I would give Scholesy one more week and put Fletcher in the centre with Ronaldo on the right.

I just get the feeling Scholes is going to score, perhaps 2. Hmmmmmm interesting. I think he will have a good game if he plays. First goal perhaps....

Scholes is not going to play, also Keane will be rested quite probably. I would also rest Giggs for the Stuttgart match. It will be a difficult game.. I predict 1-2.

If We don't play three of out best players just because we decided too, well, we deserve a difficult game.

But I think Giggs and Keane will play, Scholes depending on his fitness.

Keane, Giggs and Scholes(!) all start. So I was wrong.

I thought this would have been a game to rest some of the players before an important CL game. But of course SAF knows what he is doing.

:nervous:

Man Utd: Howard, G, Neville, Ferdinand, O'Shea, P, Neville, Fortune, Keane, Scholes, Giggs, van Nistelrooy, Fletcher

Subs: Ronaldo, Butt, Carroll, Djemba-Djemba, Forlan

Full Premiership debut for Fletcher :D

strange that forlan isnt getting a chance after his performance in preseason.

What have I missed? I just woke up from a night of drinking and two strange women in my bed.

U have missed United ripping LEicester to pieces 3-0 Keano got the first and Ruud hit the other 2. His second is supposedly a bit special.

Brilliant. Happy for Ruud - Gary was fit to burst when they were celebrating. Just checking up to see just when was Keano's last goal in the league, and it was the winner against Blackburn at Old Trafford - all the way back Feb 19 2002! Fletcher = first-team material.

 Not much, obviously!

Not a great half by any means but we're playing well. It's obvious to me that we've really missed Scholesy, no surprise that our attacking play are five times better now that he's back.

Fletcher has had a decent half. Not great but many good touches and some good attacking play from him. Has missed a few passes but that's expected for anyone making his full PL debut. Perhaps lacking tempo but not class.

Howard is solid as always but our defence has seemed a little sloppy so far.

Second half promises a great chance for us to improve our goal difference.

Fletcher   This kid will be our O'Shea this season

Really glad that Scholes is back, no surpises that United played so much better with him back

I take it Fletcher is having agood game then..

If Fletcher carries on like that in the second half, he's all but bought himself a first team role.

Ruud's second goal was fantastic, great control to take it away from Sinclair.

Ruud's second was exceptional. One touch controlled a ball in mid-flight and took it past a marker who was sticking very close to him (Thatcher?). He then swivelled, leaving Sinclair on his backside. Ruud took his time when it looked as if he would be closed out - but put it just where Walker couldn't get a sniff of it. Wonderful stuff.
