Liverpool v Manchester United

I'm praying Rio will be fit but if not then I think we'll see:

VDS
O'Shea Brown Smalling Evra
Fletcher Carrick
Nani ---- Rooney ---- Giggs
Berbatov

Is anyone 100% sure Rio will miss Anfield on Sunday?

Minutes after Chelsea game Ferguson said that and it's weird, isn't it? Especially he was expected to be back at Wigan and then at Liverpool. For me, too early to say he's definitely out. Fergie trying to make Scousers feeling more confident.

Rio is out, I can't see us winning this game, I really hope Sunderland get something at Arsenal :(

Have some faith please. I know Suarez is still a very good striker, but he's totally unproven in this league. I'd have been more concerned about coming up against Torres in Liverpool. Smalling and Brown are more than capable together of keeping them out.

It'll be interesting to see what formation Fergie will go for, we look much more like winning games when we go 4-4-2 but this may be a game for caution. Scholes looked shattered last night so I think Giggs may well play in midfield in place of him.

VDS

O'Shea
Brown
Smalling
Evra

Fletcher

Giggs

Nani
Berbatov
Rooney

Maybe it's just me but I could see Brown-Smalling with O'Shea in midfield.

Liverpool always pull a performance out against us at Anfield and imo should never be underestimated. These games are nearly always tight, tense affairs, with the result usually decided on a stroke of good or bad fortune, one way or the other.

I always felt this game was going to be the more difficult out of the 2 and regardless of the loss against Chelsea, i still feel it will be an incredibly difficult game to get a positive result from.

Considering we have Rio, Vidic, Anderson and Park already out, we are weakened at the back and limited in our options in midfield, and on top of that we have just come off an unfortunate but still somewhat morale sapping defeat. The Dippers will undoubtedly be licking their lips in anticipation at the prospect of making sure we have to wait even longer for our record breaking 19th title.

Saying that, Utd very rarely lose consecutive games and i am extremely confident Utd have more than enough to win this game, but i do feel we are going to have to play fantastically well, much better than we have played away from home so far this season, to get all 3 points.

Id play Oshea left back and Rafael right back and give Evra a rest.

Really? How many of our first choice back four do you want out for a particularly testing trip to Anfield?

Evra has a knock anyway, he might need a rest.

O'Shea vs. Kuyt would be interesting.

Is Evans back at least?

Going down the left wing, I think Fabio will be the better option attacking wise and defensively he has been improving. I would like to see Fabio instead of O'Shea down the left.

No Evans is not fit yet. So it has to be Smalling and Brown or O'Shea, in central defense which I don't want.

With all due respect O'Shea and Brown have played centre-back against more difficult opponents than Liverpool 10-11.

Fabio better than O'Shea defensively ... erm

Phil Dowd is a great ref for United. Check out the second half of Arsenal's game against Newcastle. Single handedly won them a point.

OShea has been doing really good recently. I think Oshea plays regardless due to experience. But I think Rafael has been doing better than Evra recently. A rest for Evra wouldnt be the worst thing in the world. Hes been making a few defensive mistakes here and there.

Ye, a bit like when Webb awarded that penalty against Spurs at OT which counted as 5 goals.

That was a ridiculous argument from Spurs, admittedly. But in this case, it was a case of a red card, two penalties, a dodgy free kick which led to a goal, followed by disallowing a perfectly good winner from us. It's been and gone now though.

Dowd doesn't hate us, he's just a bit of a homer. Which I suspect you might see on Sunday. He's just like Atkinson.

Funny how you don't mention the perfectly good goal which was disallowed for Newcastle.

But anyway.....
