Liverpool v Manchester United

I don't agree they were there for the taking. They didn't look as dominant as recent clashes because we stifled them in mf. We had one particularly good spell during which we scored but they were the more thretening team near the end, so I don't seewhere the subs made it that much better. The game opened up late on because neither team was content with a point.

I don't think they were there for the taking but I do think we could've won. The players threw the kitchen sink at Liverpool got a goal then seemed to settle for a point, especially after our openness led to the Kuyt chance. After that the players seemed to think lets not throw away the draw we've just about got away with by going gung ho for the last 10 minutes and Liverpool then came onto us. However, I reckon had we gone chest to chest so to speak we'd have had enough to win it. We've got Chicharito after all... :p

I agree that we could've won as it was, anyway. Still, not an unreasonable argument at all and you probably have a point. We probably sat back a bit probably hoping to catch them on the break but it's debatable how much of that was due to them pressing us. Had we opened up and gone at them more it might've ended up like the Chelsea game where anything could've happened and either side could've won. It would've been more entertaining but still, a point ain't bad and as pros, they tend to be more pragmatic than we do.

I just feel we upped the tempo to get the equaliser then sat on it and settled for the point.

I take your point, although we've been guilty of sitting on leads for the past 2/3 years with a more recognisable first XI esp away. So it's probably less a selection issue and more application.

They might claim they sat on their 1-0 lead instead of building on it - several ways you can look at it

I agree with what you say , but you could see the urgency and potential in the team when we made changes and were one down, this changed when we scored. A point at Anfield is never a bad result
