Man of the Match Vs. Sunderland

Only one real candidate on our side imo, and that's Beckham. Then I'd say Veron, and Scholes. We created so many chances. O'Shea was unlucky to go off, he was playing fantastically.

Beckham was awesome. An inspirational performance, with his crossing particularly exceptional. His best performance for a while.

Becks with O'Shea close behind. All the midfielders played well.

Mint.

No-one came close to Becks.

If that's what having competition for your place does, get the cheque book out now!

Becks was awesome.......

i loved his enthusiam, work rate and 'freshness' as SAF put it.

looks like the beckham of 99 is back.

Well said. Put some pressure on Giggsy & the roof could come off!

fantastic performance from becks, and from the team as a whole.
i thought the birmingham goal was bombarded on saturaday, but today's performance surpasses it.
i always think that united are beat to watch when they are one down. today was no exception. can't believe that it took us 80 mins to score after going one down. sheer persistent determination. I've been at a lot of games at OT this season when the last 20 minutes have been a stroll. not today. it was unrelenting aggression and attack. it looked as if we were going to be unlucky again, but they came through in the end - just fantastic.
well done becks, well done whole team !!! <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" /> <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" /> <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" /> <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" /> <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

it was with no doubt DAVID BECKHAM

he was everywhere today and put a big confidence into his mates

veron comes very close despite the OG....

i was not happy about forlan but not very bad though.......

sorry if my english was poor :D

there's no way veron deserves it!!!!
well..although i know that was a accident!
becks - mom!

O'Shea does seem to look more impressive with every match. I don't think right-back is even his best position, but I loved seeing him take on players today and running at them. And I thought there were moments in the match today where he showed some wonderful ball control skills.

But Becks was definitely my MOM. He was the one player who was covering every blade of grass, chasing everything down...and who you just sensed had that steely determination that he wasn't going to let us lose. I think that time off did him a lot of good. He just looks really fresh, full of energy and hungry to me.

Yes. But it's quite ironic if you looked back the posts a few weeks ealier, especially those who said Becks MUST stay on the right and MUST NOT chase everywhere in the field. I think Beckham has found a right balance himself. He has showed that he could influence the game by covering more ground in the field, yet still got to the right position at the right time to cross the ball.

he did keep himself out wide most of the game today and Veron looked much more comfortable because he had more space to play football. Keane also gave a lot of balls to Veron.

Many of us wanted to see becks do the crossing and today he made about 10 of 'em.. that shows that he did have a game where he mostly played out wide. that's all we asked, and that's exactly what we got.

I thought that was Beckhams best game in at least a year. Best supply of crossing we've seen from him since '99.
I think the spell watching Ole from the sidelines has shown him how important a stream of crosses actually is, rather than trying the long ball all the time.
And as we saw yesterday, he'll still get his scoring chances too.
Im glad to see he stayed out wide for a lot of the game, it gave us an outlet on the right, which was of massive importance considering how Sunderland packed everyone down the middle.

Sorry Blythy, I thought we should used the player rating website from Wibble?

This was just for MoM but the United Player Rating app should be able to work out the Man of the Match too, though currently that is not a feature. The app is still very new, much newer than HyperPix, and still needs all the reporting functions programming, but without data, it was pointless doing the reports.

oh ok! thanks! :)

That was the best Becks has plyaed in 2 seasons, he was awesome yeserday and long may it continue. Now if we can only get Giggs going again.....

Beckham was superb and really made sure that we pushed forward at every opportunity.
I also thought that Mickey was excellent, especially when he megged their full back twice.

He was also instrumental in setting up the winner with his go-go gadget leg extension!!
