The honorable SharyMcShark and I shall be doing the minute by minute thread for the game today. Go United!

So here we are, it's 11 hours to kick off

Some background info on the game

So, we are without Scholes (red card, 1 match suspension), Rooney (2 yellows, one match suspension), Berbatov (injury), Vidic (red card, 2nd match of a two match suspension), and it's been confirmed that Anderson (injury) is also unavailable.

Our squad for the match today is Van der Sar, Foster, Kuszczak, Neville, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Ronaldo, Nani, Fletcher, Gibson, Possebon, Carrick, Park, Giggs, Tevez, Welbeck.

Villa have lost their last two games away from home, but during this time have only won 1 from 6 games, also managing a draw.

To round out the Sharky pre match package, TabOz sportsbet are returning (to put this in an FM format)

Man Utd $1.40 (Fav) Draw $4.00 Aston Villa $8.00

Can I get your current thoughts on the game Alex before we start the commentary later tonight?

Well Sharky a lot people have called other games must-win this season, but the only one more important than this one this season was Inter at home. United showed up that day so hopefully they do again today. United are decimated by injuries and suspensions, but have still have more than enough match winners to put Villa away.

Okay so here we are 20 minutes from kick off. Our Lineup for today is

Van Der Sar, O Shea, Neville, Evans, Evra, Giggs, Fletcher, Carrick, Ronaldo, Nani, Tevez.

Our Subs are Foster, Eckersley, Gibson, Macheda, Park, Martin, and Welbeck.
So on our side Ferdinand is a surprise withdrawal, and no Anderson as expected.

Meanwhile on the flipside of things, Villa have a starting XI of Friedel, Luke Young, Cuellar, Davies, Shorey, Milner, Petrov, Barry, Ashley Young, Carew, Agbonlahor
On the bench they have Guzan, Delfouneso, Knight, Salifou, Reo-Coker, Gardner, Albrighton

Still some question as to the formation we'll play, and I'll update you on that once the game itself has started.

Novelty fact: Park aside, our bench has five Premier League appearances between them, with only one start (Foster against Derby last season).

Fox Sports has us playing 442 with Giggs up top with Tevez.

Van Der Sar
Neville O Shea Evans Evra
Ronaldo Fletcher Carrick Nani
Giggs Tevez

And we're at kick off, on a bright and sunny spring afternoon in England, which is a dark and cold Autumn evening here.

Villa have not won at OT since 1983, long may that continue

Foul by Giggs, poor call, United could have broke there

United look a bit disjointed at the moment and are having trouble keeping ahold of the ball

Nani has been looking fairly good on the left so far, but Villa seem far more powerful in midfield atm

United's passing has been very poor so far, they have giving the ball away far to easily

The ball was tipped by Giggsy and Ronaldo absolutely hammered it at O Shea's spot in the wall - Sheasy ducked and the ball flew into the back of the net beyond the despariing Friedel at about head height.

United break fast after getting the ball back from the kickoff and Giggs has a shot blocked. Corner to us.

Talk about a huge fecking goal, RONALDO

Milner was booked on the lead up to the goal as well

Giggs has a great chance, United have an extra gitty up in their step since the goal

 at Riley giving Milner the yellow instead of Young.

Top finish by Ronaldo....

Viva Ronaldo!!!!

Nani is down injured, let's hope he is just acting

United are getting a grasp on the game right now

Another foul by Fletcher he is lucky to not seen a yellow as of yet

Poor touch by Tevez there, it was a great chance after a poor clearance by Friedel

Agbonglahor skinned Neville but well taken by VdS on a cross that was on the ground
