Manchester United v. Bayern Munich - 25th July

Solid performance so far, though ive no idea why we didnt take Kenny Cooper on the tour, we really need eother a big targetman for Smith to play off or to push Smith further upfield, Alans doing well off the ball but needs to be in the box more, but because our midfields deep with containing Bayern, the service is poor so he has to drop deep.

According to some yanks in a footy forum Spector played really good.

Snorefest.

Spector stood out; for an 18 year old, he looked very solid and composed. Bardsley had the best scoring chance, a 30 yard effort on goal at the end of the first half. Keane was in the back four so he didn't have his normal influence on the match. Djordic was ok. Eagles looks promising. Richardson was ok. Smith was the best player on the pitch for United. Djemba was probably second best and controlled midfield.

Bellion is complete shit. This was a horrible match from him, the worst I've ever seen from him and he's had some pathetic performances.

0-0 Full time. Sounded like a good performance from the youngsters, Smith / Spector especially.

Naturally the Germans go on to win on penalties (4-2)

Surprisingly it's the more experienced players (Smith / O'Shea) who blew it. Keane and Bellion score theirs.

He did - the lad is a natural footballer!

McShane did well too.

Eagles showed some excellent footwork, but is still too much of a lightweight.

Richardson played well in the second half, when he started running at the defenders.

Bardsley did ok, nothing spectacular.

Djemba had a good match, especially 2nd half.

Djordic was quiet.

Smith was excellent, held the ball up really well. Didn't get to any chances though.

Bellion showed lots of pace, but is rubbish on the ball and his decision making.

Keano had a good game in the centre of the back three.

I thought Bellion was better than just pace he won a few corners was much stronger on the ball than last season and except for one terrible pass after good work getting past the defender his passing was pretty good

Nah, he's crap

Random fast bloke, with no particular footballing ability

Spector was class, as were Bardsley and McShane. Richardson was very good too. Djemba Djemba controlled the midfield, and Smith was fantastic, none stop commitment right until the end, very good hold up play. Considering the weather conditions, I thought they all done very well. Bit unsure about Djordic, and I think Chadwick looked a little lost, but apart from that it was good.

TOTAL Snorefest.

The boos were well deserved.
It really was a snorefest. I would have thought that Bayern putting its first team up against what was basically our youth team was a recipe for a Bayern blowout. But, for the most part, the youngsters played well, especially Spector. McShane played well too. Carroll had one nice save. Other than that ... :boring:

saw only about 30 mins and nothing happened. Utd were controlling the game and Bayern were sitting back absorbing the pressure. Utd couldnt get much going in the final 3rd of the field. sounds like I didnt miss much by not seeing the rest of the game. pity for the fans in Chicago.
