Poor 1st half tbf...not shaping up to be a classic so far...

I'd rather beat them playing great football than them shooting themselves in the foot, twice...

Whatever the result the pundits/press will hate us even more, unless we put on a show of beautiful football in the 2nd half...
 
The producer couldn't fit enough shots of Dalglish in that half could he? Instead of seeing Webb dish out the red to Gerrard, we got King Kenny's boring reaction.

Colour commentator was painful on Setanta too.
 
Would have liked to have seen a second goal before halftime.Dippers will park the bus and hope to snatch a goal from the counter.

He made a professional foul, and Webb has acted accordingly. If you wanted the game to run 11 vs 11, then Gerrard shouldn't of made an awful foul, rather then complaining about Webb awarding the correct decision.

exactly. The nonsense being spouted here is unbelievable, even the commentators were like Oh thats a bit harsh. Idiots. Fact is, Gerrard is a dirty player who has finally been called on it.

ITV might as well hold a one minute silence for Liverpool....their from-the-get-go favouritism in the build up, as well as Beglin's cringey crusade against Howard Webb has been disgraceful.

As for Howard Webb - finally a referee with the cojones to send off that saint Steve Gerrard (MBE)
 
the level of biased commentating is quite staggering. both setanta and itv have ex liverpool players on. beglin spent ages blaming berbatov for not staying on his feet and its taken a whole half of football before there is an admission that the penalty tackle was silly defending.

as for the gerrard incident had it been a united player he would have deserved to go. both feet off the ground, no contact with the ball and studs showing right into carricks ankle. that is a leg breaker and he deserved to go. dalglish knew it soon as he saw the monitor. beglin has taken 20 mins to acknowledge it.
 
For people saying it was not a Red, even Gerrard did not argue with the ref.

Playing within ourselves at the moment, the early goal took some of the edge out our game, plus Liverpool's inability to actually do anything really meaningful when they get the ball. Not much going up, Nani needs to get more into the game, the way Liverpool players were backing off him at points, they looked as if they would shit their pants the second he looks up, he can take advantage of that. Berbatov and Hernandez have been a bit on the peripheral, but probably more so to do with our movement in midfield, or lack of it.

Defending's been alright, Evans and Rafael....I reckon I'm going to go on a axe-spree if I here another negative comment alluding to Rafael not being able to defend, it's as ridiculous as calling Nani's end-product inconsitent. Great to see Evans back and a shame he didn't score.

Berbatov's decision was a fortunate one, it wasn't a penalty, but Gerrard's tackle was frankly horrible and deserved the punishment without question.
 
Need the 2nd goal really early in the 2nd half. We get too nervous with a 1 goal lead.

Rio is magnificant at the back,expect Torres to burn into tears any second now. Gerrard is twat and useless one to be precise. Glad about Giggs scoring,but overall not great performance,expect us to step up second half,we've let them too much space in the middle. Berbatov dived.
 
we created very little chances apart from the penalty and Evans header right before half-time, need to do better in the 2nd half...
