Rawk seem to think that Rafael's challenge prior to Gerrards was studs up.. feck off. He was barely a lift and the studs were facing down. Its a tackle I'd expect in any one on one to win the ball.

I don't usually see things in black and white, and like to think that a range of views and opinions is always welcome, but for those who are disputing the decision for Gerrard, the options are these: You either don't know the rules, or you are on a wind-up. It doesn't take an avid United supporter posting on message boards to see that, anyone who watches the smallest amount of football could see that the challenge was both dangerous and reckless, frankly, Carrick was lucky to come out of it okay. Some of the rubbish about letting games run and having an even competition is bullshit, would it have been even if one of our midfielders had to go off injured for dangerous play? That's the point of having strong measures, to deter challenges like that from the game, if you are to leave it and award a yellow, what kind of message does that send?
defender made contact with the player in the area. he made a stupid tackle and didnt get the ball. penalty. youre probably right though. had it been stevie g I'm sure he would have made every effort to stay on his feet

We can't have any complaints about it. The pen and the dive yes, but the red. Webb's got it right, unfortunatly.
