Manchester United v Manchester City

It's a shame the managers couldn't agree to play only one half today - because the first half was a total write off. Just stretching the legs, making the odd effort, not taking any risks, hoping the City defence makes an error. We needed a couple of goals in 90 minutes, but we've just let the first 45 blast by us pointlessly.
 
For ruck sake take a chance man and play 2 up front take scholes off,,,,,,you cannot play scholes and giggs in the same side anymore
 
What an awful match, in complete contrast to the first leg which was, despite the result, quite brilliant.

Not too happy so far. We need to make more effort to score and change the destination of the tie. Not enough width and penetration in our play so far. Must create better chances or else Man City might find an opportunistic goal.
 
I say go 4 4 2, to hell with it. This is the league cup, its only cities chance...lets just go for it and attack attack and attack. We can't let the 2-1 first result stand..lets make them work for it....

Still cant believe Fergie threw away our momentum from the weekend by not starting another striker with Rooney.
 
Nobody should be surprised with our lackluster, unimaginative, blunt performance. It's typical 4-5-1 at the moment, and we all saw it coming.
 
Fergie won't change a thing, the game will stay exactly the same til about 55 - 60 minutes until Fergie takes off Scholes and brings on either Berba or Owen, then we'll look a lot more threatening. Whether we'll score in the time left remains to be seen.

giggs and either scholes/Carrick off, berba and valencia on. Diouf and Owen at the end if we need them.
 
Rooney is too isolated. We need another striker out there because we have just wasted 45 minutes throwing long balls to a bunch of City players and a lonely striker.
 
We've been fine. If Rooney had just got a toe on Carrick's cross we'd have been 1 up and on our way. We could do with creating a little more but that can still come from the same players in the same formation in the second half.

Useless system, we are at home dammit, play to attack. Poor Rooney hardly has support and City defence can focus on mark him. Dont knoiw why Fergie persist with such a shit formation. Use your fecking strikers we dont have them injured use them for feck sake.
 
We have been pretty poor in a game that we have to win and Citeh have us under control. Same old, same old - i don't know what SAF is trying to play here tbh isolating Rooney on his own when we have to score to even have a chance of going through. I expect a quick second half sub on, probably berbs on for Giggs.

wont be surprised if scholes is sent off at some point the longer it stays 0-0 or if we go down 0-1.
 
Came in from work, fell asleep and have just missed the entire first half which is fecking crazy. Have I missed anything?
 
Christ that was dull. Rooney is isolated and isn't gonna do anything if he keeps having to pull back when he receives the ball. Carrick hasn't been up to much so I'd take him off for Berba or Owen and go 4-4-2.
