Manchester United v Newcastle United

I wish SAF wouldn't act like such a dick sometimes.
Just pick the best team ffs; The best team has Ruud in it, everytime

We're playing the same team for three matchs in a row (for the first time in how many years?) and people still aren't happy!

it has nothing to do with that. when it comes to fergie changing lineups, it is something he has stopped doing for quite some time now. the fact is that we are placing the topscorer on the bench for the third time, when he`s fit. due to the other cases with players doing something wrong and get benched, i am getting worried that fergie is trying to prove a point to ruud.

Ruud and Fletcher were both annomonyous in the Dippers game, fair play to Fergie for giving them something to think about imo.

Well, maybe if Saha was fit and got the matches Ruud got, he'd have been top scorer too. Both are in good form, but Saha's been marginally better for me and he deserves (and needs) games.

If Fergie wants rid of Ruud, what does putting him on the bench helps? Doesn't help his value. Plus, if Fergie wants rid, he could easily leave him out altogether.

My worries about Ruud grow more and more! Hopefully there happened nothing behind closed doors between him and Fergie

Two reasons Ruuds on the bench.

1.Keeping him fresh for next season.Saha is more than capable.

2.He will be sold at the end of the season.

no he wouldnt, saha isnt the type of player that bangs in goals on commando, he needs several chances before he scores. ruud is capable of scoring goals out of nowhere. there´s no doubt that our best lineup involves ruud, simple as that. ruud has been scoring goals for fun this season, topscorer in the league with 19 goals.

look at the previous situations, like with becks (though becks was quite poor and deserved to be benched at that time).

Great, so your first completely contradicts your second

Excellent post

ummm...Fletcher not even on the subs bench again

He is carrying a knock. Both he and Ruud missed training on Friday.

Good to see we've got so many midfield options on the bench, especially after Parker and co over ran us in the first half back in the summer.

Last time I checked, before his injuries with us and since his return, Saha too has been scoring regularly. I know we have midfield problems but let's not go THAT easy on our strikers.

With Rooney, Giggs, Ronaldo, Park and Scholes earlier on, getting scoring chances wasn't that difficult. And Ruud has missed quite a few good ones as well. I don't think his form has been THAT good that he can't be dropped.

Ruud can score a goal from nothing and so can Saha - both do it in a different way though.

If Ruud should be starting every single time like some people are saying, why should someone like Saha bother playing for Manchester United? He can do the job well and still have no chance of starting himself.

I did think Ruud should return to the lineup for this one and I'm surprised he didn't. But this whole doom and gloom is silly.

They'll dominate the midfield today too. SAF will have to bring on Ruud, and move Rooney back.
We know this now, yet we still start with O'Shea and Giggs

Frankly I am more than happy to see Saha play, he has done well lately and needs a good run when being fit. Ruud knows he is top scorer/ first choice and will benefit from some extra rest.
What is the fecking problem?

Who else can we start with Noodle?

Sadly. I agree they'll dominate the middle though.
Rooney, in midfield

He'll end up being moved back there anyway

we dont have a single midfield talents on our reserve team ?
Yes - Ritchie, David Jones and Liam Miller - all on loan but could surely do a decent job in our midfield.

You know this before the game starts?

Well, if we start with Rooney, Ruud and Saha, what would plan B be? Better start with the combo that started the last two matches and if we need a change, we'll have something to fall back on.

Fuchin moaner.

Ruud will come on when we aren't doing well in the match.

Rossi will come on when & if we're 2 goals ahead and with 15 mins or less to go.

Can anyone see the headlines tomorrow. The press will have a field day with the speculations especially if Rossi comes on ahead of Ruud.
