I seriously hope we win this one just so we are one step closer to secure qualification A.S.A.P.

De Gea

Rafael--Rio--Smalling/Wootton--Buttner

Fletcher

Anderson--Cleverley

Nani--Chicharito--Kagawa

A comfortable 2-0 United win, or maybe 3-1

Dunno why I thought this was away.
You'd expect a win at home. Lets hope we arent complacent.

Not what I expect to see, but I'd like:

De Gea
Rafael---Ferdinand---Evans---Buttner
Fletcher
Cleverley---Anderson
Rooney
Chicharito---Welbeck

Bench: Lindegaard, Valencia, Smalling/Wootton, Kagawa, Carrick, RVP, Nani

Diamond, diamond, diamond please.

Hopefully Smalling can be involved - I had hoped he could've played some part against Stoke and then start this one, but with two games against Chelsea after this then I'm not sure when we can ease him back outside of this game.

RVP probably doesn't need resting, but I'd prefer not to risk him ahead of Chelsea when we have a rich array of strikers, nevermind other attackers like Kagawa, Nani and Valencia - maybe even Young.

That said Braga are I think third in their league; probably our hardest home game in the group.

I watched them in a Portuguese cup game the other day, they played very neat football.

Would like to see Smalling and Buttner play.

I think Kagawa will start with RVP rested, might see Fletcher play as well.

Lindegaard

Fletcher
Smalling
Wooton
Buttner

Nani
Cleverley
Anderson
Young

Kagawa
Hernandez

Don't like the way our midfield is getting rotated. Scholes and Carrick playing today probably means Anderson-Cleverley for this, which in turn would mean Scholes and Carrick back for Chelsea.

I think Cleverley will start both matches. It's not like we chop and change our midfield completely every game.

De Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
Fletcher
Kagawa Cleverley
Rooney
Van Persie Welbeck

The team that beat Newcastle 3-0, excepting Fletcher for Carrick.

Why do I get the feeling it's one of those fixtures where we will make life difficult for ourselves. If I'm honest I'm expecting a slow possibly sloppy performance.

Would love to be wrong though

Probably because its April 2011 since we last put in a good performance in the CL against a team of any note.

Hoping this will be the match where we put in a decent performance.

Lindegaard

Rafael
Smalling
Evans
Buttner

Nani
Cleverley
Anderson
Young

Kagawa
Hernandez

SUBS: de Gea, Ferdinand, Fletcher, Powell, Giggs, Rooney, van Persie.

Team should be...

GK: Lindegaard

RB: Rafael
CB: Evans
CB: Ferdinand
LB: Evra

CM: Cleverley
CM: Fletcher
CM: Anderson

CF: Young
CF: Rooney
CF: Hernandez

Subs: De Gea, Wootton, Carrick, Giggs, Nani, Valencia, RVP

Diamond formation with Young and Rooney interchanging

I'd like to see

GK: Lindegard

RB: Rafael
CB: Evans
CB: Smalling
LB: Buttner

RW: Nani
CM: Fletcher
CM: Anderson
LW: Giggs

CF: Welbeck
CF: Hernandez

Subs: De Gea, Rio, Powell, Rooney, Cleverley, Scholes, Valencia

DDG

Rafael
Evans
Rio
Buttner

Nani
Cleverley
Anderson
Fletcher
Kagawa

Hernandez

What we do know for sure is we'll be pretty much full strength. Fergie has made it clear he's not fecking about this year.

There'll obviously be some changes but I'm expecting something like:

De Gea
Rafael Smalling Evans Evra
Fletcher
Cleverley Anderson
Kagawa
Rooney Hernandez

I fully expect to line up with that diamond.

Any chance of a front 6 of:

..............Carrick.....Cleverley...,..........
Welbeck...Rooney..,RVP....Hernandez

?

^^ I'll be surprised if Carrick and RVP start.

Would like to see Nani,Kagawa,Hernandez and Cleverley start. Not too sure how we'd play to fit them all in there though. Possibly something like this:

DDG
Rafael Evans Rio Buttner
Carrick Cleverley
Kagawa
Rooney Hernandez Nani

Just because both had busy International weeks, played the full game yesterday, it's a home tie and we have Chelsea at the weekend.

I know the above relates to a few others too but I reckon he'll want to rest those 2 in particular. Maybe Evra too but I'm unsure about that.

I agree for the case of RVP here. But Carrick is our Lampard. He's very fit. Plus we have not much alternative other than the half-fit Fletcher.

Our midfield three is probably gonna be
Clev-Ando
Kagawa

Think we'll see Buttner and Smalling getting some minutes. Possibly Young and Nani on wings. Chico will start.

I think this lineup

DDG
Rafael-Smalling/Jones/Wooton/-Evans-Buttner
Clev-Ando
Nani-Kagawa-Young
Chico

I'm sure Fletcher's fine. He's played 2(?) full games for us recently plus 2 full games for Scotland last week.

I'm much rather protect Carrick if we can.

giggs will start this wont he.

I fail to see the problem in that. He needs games, and this is the easiest game (no disrespect to our opponents) in our current run. There are more positives than negatives in starting Giggs for this one.

After his last performances he's not going to play well again and he should retire, don't you remember?

It's better to start him on Tuesday than against Chelsea (two games) or Arsenal.

In theory it should be an easy win for us but knowing our CL performances, especially in the group stages, it will probably be a boring 1-0.

I can't decide what I'd like to see most here, although I'm pretty sure a main midfield three of Fletcher, Cleverley, and Anderson is a given. Buttner deserves another chance and Evra can be rested for Chelsea (even though there's a big gap between the games).

Rooney, Welbeck, and van Persie could be on the bench in case we need a goal. I know the best way to go about things is to start with these players then take them off, but I'd like Kagawa to play a part if he's fit or maybe Nani to get a start to get some confidence back (it'd probably be Welbeck to make way). I think Giggs will be involved at some point and I'd like Ferdinand to be subbed too if we're winning - but all of that can't happen haha.

Lindegaard might start over de Gea. I fancy us to play similar teams against Braga, and Chelsea in the League Cup. I hope Smalling is fit soon and that Fergie doesn't punish Rio for not wearing a certain t-shirt.

de Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Buttner
Fletcher Cleverley Anderson
Kagawa Rooney
van Persie
--
Lindegaard; Wootton; Powell, Giggs, Nani; Hernandez, Welbeck

^ Probably Giggs, Nani, and Hernandez to replace Rooney, van Persie, and Fletcher.
