Manchester United vs. Bursaspor

Play Rooney from the start or he'll throw a strop...

My prediction. We'll lead 2-0 and look comfortable, and then conspire to throw it away in the last 10 minutes to end up 2-2.

I think the fans will give Rooney a good reception. Saying that I don't think he should start let alone the bench. He has to work for his place and form wise he is not doing well at all.

Starting XI: ------------- Kuszczak ---------------------------
O´Shea ------- Brown ---------------- J.Evans --------- Evra -
- Nani -------- Scholes --------------- Fletcher ------- Obertan
--------------- Rooney ---------------- Owen -----------------

Bench: Amos, Rafael, Smalling, Carrick, Park/Bebe, Hernandez, Berbatov

Rested: Van Der Sar, Ferdinand, Vidic

Meh, looks like Bebe is injured. I guess Obertan will get some playing time ,God help us.

Squad of 24 train on Tuesday

Preparations for the Reds' Champions League Group C fixture against Bursaspor continued on Tuesday morning when 24 United players - including striker Wayne Rooney - taking part in a training session at Carrington.

ManUtd.com, alongside a host of national and international media, were invited to the club's training ground to watch the first 15 minutes. The 21 outfield players split into two groups for some possession work (a game known at United as "boxes") before first-team fitness coach Tony Strudwick led an energetic warm-up and stretching session.

Ryan Giggs and Bebe are both nursing minor injuries at the moment so did not take part, while Jonny Evans was also absent. It's believed Evans may also be carrying a knock.

Sir Alex and John O'Shea will field questions at a UEFA press conference held at Old Trafford at 14:00 BST on Tuesday, ahead of Turkish champions Bursaspor's visit on Wednesday night (kick-off: 19:45 BST).

Training squad: Amos, Kuszczak, van der Sar; W Brown, Evra, Ferdinand, Neville, O'Shea, Rafael, Smalling, Vidic; Anderson, Carrick, Fletcher, Gibson, Nani, Obertan, Park, Scholes; Berbatov, Hernandez, Macheda, Owen, Rooney.

Going to guess that Giggs, Bebe and Evans will miss the game entirely and O'Shea will start, the size of the squad may indicate he's think of a pseudo-reserve team...shame Hargreaves (I know he's cup-tied) isn't training in the build up for the Wolves game next week.

Rooney - Owen/Macheda

Nani is on fire at the moment, Park/Bebe/Obertan needs a game

Fletch/Scholes...

And a decent back four and I hope we catch them hard !

I'd imagine unless United resort to playing Carrick in the back four for no good reason, the defence should be decent personel wise looking at the training squad, even giving Gary Neville a runout isn't that bad an idea ...also Vidic (or whoever else is leading the defence) does need to be more vocal and the rest need to be at their best.

I just can't imagine Rooney starting this after today's presser. And it doesn't make sense in the long run. Better to give other players a run in the team.

van der Sar
Rafael Vidic Evans Evra
Nani Carrick Scholes Park
Berbatov Owen

Kuszczak; O'Shea, Smalling; Anderson, Obertan; Hernandez, Macheda

Maybe Bebé somewhere, over Macheda or Obertan. Fletcher and Ferdinand saved for Stoke away, O'Shea will start at Stoke as well. Scholes may sit this one out in favour of playing against Stoke, but he could play 60+ minutes in both after only playing at bit-part against West Brom.

Got to win.

And was apparently stretched off in training. Hope Scholes or Neville gave him one to remember

Hernandez
Anderson - Gibson - Nani
Carrick - Fletcher
Fabio - Evans - Rio - rafael

2-0 hernandez nani

there has to be a proper return of build a bonfire tonight... surely

looking forward to it :D

No Giggs, no Rooney, and no Bebe. Does this potentially mean that we'll see Obertan on the Left? Would be good to see Nani and Obertan on the pitch together...

EDIT - Maybe it'll be a 4-3-3 with Berba up top and Nani and Hernandez playing off him. Hopefully Obertan will figure at some point though.

I hope we go 4-3-3 with Fletcher/Scholes/Carrick as the midfield and Hernandez/Berba/Nani as the front 3.

This add needs to be updated to be more accurate.

Like when she drops the ball from the above seating cabinet Edwin should drop it and look despondent. And when it's passed to Gibson he should horribly miscontrol it and then shoot, possibly shattering a window/the flight hostess.

And Scholes getting fed up and trying to break someones leg.

Is Park fit cause if he is i expect he would be ahead of Obertan, saying that i would prefer Obertan.

Rooney will not get a look in. I'm really looking forward to seeing the team's reaction to all of this. Maybe there will be an immense sense of unity with new / newer players coming in to prove their worth

I thought Chicharito, Berbatov and Nani linked up well in the first half against West Brom, hope they can build on that and start to really forge an understanding as a front three.

3-1 tonight, with the above three getting a goal each

I'm really excited about this now, eager to see how the players respond to all the media frenzy about the one-man-team who's about to be a no-man-team.
