UEFA Champions League
Old Trafford
Tuesday 21th October 2008
KO - 19:45 BST

think it will a win but cetlic will be fired up.....will be a big game with plenty of passion and end to end for a while. united will have too much class tho. can wait for this one.

I always look forward to our Home matches in the Champions League. There is nothing else like it. This match will have some added spice to it with Celtic coming over. We had better give a good account of ourselves and win this game.

They'll try to kick us off the park, we should kick them back too. Rooney and Berbatov are starting to gel as a partnership, not the best time to break them. Tevez to come on late in the game ala Ole. Vidic deserves a rest and Evra is injured. Carrick should start if he's fit or we should go with Fletcher and Giggs in the middle.

They'll be up for it, battle of Britain and all that

4-0 win

Tevez to start

A possible nightmare for the Hoops.

3-0 United, Rooney Ronaldo and Tevez to score.

Agreed.

Always look forward to them.

very close to the team I reckon but I think with giggs playing the 90 today, I think he'll be rested for either park or nani.

Im starting to hope so. He really does deserve more chances again. He has missed our last game and been rested so there is no reason for a lack of energy. He must be bursting to go out there and prove himself. We will need his drive and work rate against a tough Celtic side.

Please let us batter these cnuts. All my mates are Celtic supporting twats and they are hard to listen to, still going on about that Nakamura goal.

5-0 please. Thank you.

Injury problems pile up for Celtic

Celtic are facing an injury crisis ahead of their Champions League clash at Manchester United after two more players picked up injuries.

Top scorer Georgios Samaras joined Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink on the sidelines before Saturday's victory at Inverness and both Gary Caldwell and Marc Crosas went on to pick up injuries during the game.

Samaras, who has netted 10 goals in 11 games this season, returned injured from international duty with Greece and is set to undergo a cartilage operation in Dublin on Sunday, almost certainly ruling him out of the vital Group E trip to Old Trafford.

Samaras played 62 minutes of his country's World Cup qualifying defeat to Switzerland on Wednesday night before being substituted.

And Gordon Strachan's woes were compounded when Caldwell required stitches to treat an ankle injury against Inverness and Crosas was substituted late on with a hamstring problem.

Strachan said: "Gary Caldwell has got a few stitches in his foot. There are definitely a few knocks about the place, and we've got to try to find a team who can keep the ball and be a threat at Old Trafford."

Vennegoor of Hesselink, meanwhile, was this week ruled out for up to a month.

Rooney was again irrepressible and the only downside to the win was an injury to Patrice Evra, who was forced off in the first half after taking a knock to his leg.

doesnt say hamstring .. i'm hopeful

Yes, O'shea is better in the midfield. His crossing was seriously poor yesterday and also he can't even run 10 yards with the ball without stumbling on it

Yo're seriously saying O'Shea is a better midfielder than he is a full back?

My god hes awfull at football. was saying before that he shouldnt be used in midfield and should be used as LB cover. he looked even worse yesterday.

Its too early to assume that fabio cant defend, wish he was available yesterday.

O'shea isn't comfortable anywhere on the pitch, but he looks quite composed with a expereinced midfielder next to him.

O'Shea's a good left back. Pretty rubbish going forward, although probably better at crossing than Brown. Good defender and man marker though.

Can't wait for this one, Tevez to start. Anderson to come in for Giggs.

Not better than brown at crossing.. no.

Nah I reckon he is just. Far more inconsistent but he puts in more good ones than Brown does. Brown's getting better though.
