Will Tim Howard start or will they hold him out for the Giants Stadium game?

Hope to see Smith but I am not sure if they want to rest him after the hard work he did on Sunday.

Im betting they are gonna save Howard until Giants stadium. I also hope we get to see Smith again because i liked the way he played atainsg bayern.

We shouldn't play defensive like we did against Bayern because it's Celtic, they aren't a match on Bayern. We should take the game to them. It says alot if Liverpool can beat them 5-1.

Bellion will almost certainly start, the youngsters will come on in the second half. Having said that Id love to see Jones get a start alongside Keano, he plays a similar role so who better to learn from.

Fergie has a change of heart, Howard will start the match. :D

Ferguson intends to reinstate goalkeeper Tim Howard against Celtic tonight in the ChampionsWorld Series match.

He initially intended to name Ricardo but has had a change of heart after being stung by criticism for the team he put out against Bayern Munich on Sunday.

Only Roy Keane who started had made more than 35 appearances for United.

Ferguson said: 'I think I will play Tim Howard and leave Ricardo until the Vodafone tournament (at Old Trafford next month).

'We want to show that we are taking these games seriously despite what some people may think.'

Old Trafford captain Keane, Ryan Giggs as well as the Neville brothers are all expected to play at Lincoln Financial Field.

Fergie was on MUTV yesterday saying Giggs won't play tommorow but the Neville's will.

Is the match on MUTV?

Yes, 1.00-1.30 kick off BST. Not sure the exact time but it's between then.
Is Saha, Kleberson and Forlan with the squad now anyway? I thought they were flying out there sometime?

hopefully we will give the youngsters a chance to shine again (and the yanks an opportunity to whinge ;) )

Please no, I can't be arsed with another couple of days of soccerusa coming on here moaning.

Taken for manchester online howard plays.

But Fergie has decided to appease the US public and first victim of the policy will be Spanish goalkeeper Ricardo.

The United boss had stated he'd play in Philadelphia tonight against Celtic but he has made a U-turn and will play Tim Howard in goal.

"When we made the decision to come back after last season's success we were unaware of one or two things, like the Copa America, for instance," said Fergie.

"Also, we picked up two or three injuries from the end of the season and they haven't been able to join us.

"I feel for the fans who are coming to watch the games. They are entitled to see the best United players.

"It is hard for them to understand the difficulties I have presented to them. I am trying to get back to as strong a side as I possibly can for the next two matches against Celtic and AC Milan on Saturday.

"I don't want to be disappointing anyone in the United States, particularly promoters ChampionsWorld, who have worked so hard to make a success of this tournament."

Ryan Giggs and Wes Brown have had niggling injuries so far on the tour but may be fit for some kind of outing against the Scottish champions.

if someone is watching the game on tv or the net, would someone come on this site at half time and tell us the score, and who scored. cheers if someone does it

Brown and Giggs might play in the 2nd half or be held out till Saturday. I see this lineup tonight.

4-4-2
GK: Tim
RB: Gaz
CB: McShane
CB: Spector
LB: O'Shea
RW: Eagles
CM: Keane
DM: Djemba
LW: Richardson
ST: Bellion
ST: Smith

Nowt like a bit of Bellion to thrill the American audience ;)

 No other striker/forward to partner Smith. Too bad the club didn't bring Cooper or Johnson. I would like to see them play in the first team on the US tour.

After watching Bellion for 90 minutes in Chicago, I hope SAF plays the 4-5-1 (which is actually a 4-2-3-1) tonight.....so I don't have to watch him anymore.....

Sadly, as I plotted out the 4-2-3-1 (see below), I was left with a ? for the middle of the 3. I'd like to see Eagles on the wing tonight and don't feel the need to see Djordic again.

-------------------Howard------------------

Gaz-----McShane/Brown----Spector------JOS

-------------DJx2----------Keano------------

Eagles-------------????????-------Richardson

--------------------Smith-------------------

So, in an effort to avoid having to agree with you and predict 90 more minutes of torture (Bellion), let's try this:

--------------------Howard------------------

Gaz------McShane/Brown-----Spector-----JOS

-------------DJx2-----------Phil Nev----------

Eagles--------------Keano----------Richardson

--------------------Smith---------------------

With Keano in a more advanced support role, perhaps Smithy will see some service!

the celtic back 3 / 4 will have to wear some extra pads if kenos plaaying more advanced with smithy

I got the impression that the Nevilles would be subs since they only just started training. Fergie said they would play "some part".

Does Bardsley deserve to be dropped? Ideal time to get another look at him I say.

Howard

Bardsley
Brown
O'Shea
Spector

Eagles
Keane
Djemba twins
Richardson/Bojan

Bellion
Smith(c) ;)

That would be great fun. I hope Fergie thinks like you. However, I'm kind of expecting:

--------------------Howard------------------

Gaz------McShane-----------Spector-----JOS

Eagles---Djemba Djemba--Phil Nev---Richardson

---------------Bellion-----Smith---------------

I expect Brown to get some action in the second half, and maybe Djordic in for Phil for the last 25 minutes.

I sort of think Chadwick should be getting a start, just to have a chance, but I'd much rather see Eagles play, and I think so would Fergie.

Anyone got a live internet stream or a starting line up???
