Barclays Premier League
Old Trafford
Saturday 31th January 2009
KO: 17.30 GMT

---------------- VDS --------------------
Neville ---- Stam ---- Vidic --- O'Shea
Ronaldo --- Carrick -- Fletcher -- Park
---------- Berbatov ---- Tevez ---------

Need to maintain our brilliant form, and if we win this one we can relax and enjoy the Liverpool vs Chelsea match on Sunday. I hope we'll see the same team as today, although I believe Fletcher and Scholes might feature as neither of them played today so they should be fresh for this one.

SAME XI

Maybe Scholes for Giggs? Rafael for Neville? But those aren't drastic changes that will make or break the match.

Gotta keep this form until Inter to take some pressure off in between the 2 ties.

Giggs definetly won't play. He said himself that he needs a week to recover from matches

$We'll win comfortably by 3+ goals.

Did you see him today though? I'm sure he wouldn't mind suiting up against the Toffee's for old time sake

I want to see him against Inter away, think he could be the difference in the ties.

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: Brown
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: O'Shea

RM: Ronaldo
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Park

CF: Tevez
CF: Berbatov

Subs: Foster, Neville, Fletcher, Gibson, Tosic, Giggs, Eckersley

Can see this either being really tight or really routine :p I'll go 3-0 Ronaldo x2 and Berbatov

VDS

Brown
Ferdinand
Vidic
O'Shea

Ronaldo
Carrick
Fletcher
Park

Berbatov
Tevez

Subs: Kus, Neville, Evans, Scholes, Giggs, Welbeck, Tosic.

Finger crossed, more will be back too. I can see another 1-0, Ronaldo

The team picks itself for this one, I reckon:

van der Sar
Neville - Ferdinand - Vidic - O'Shea
Ronaldo - Carrick - Scholes/Fletcher - Park
Tevez
Berbatov

Will Arteta be back for Everton? Either way, I'd like us to nick an early goal in order to prevent their central defenders from finding a groove like they did at Anfield. Fancy a 2-0 win myself, with Tevez and Ronaldo to score.

Could see that being the team, 3-0 United.

or will he be injured till after the internationals

He is rated at 50/50 for the game tonight, so I would be surprised if he missed the game against us, unfortunately.

After SAF interview on MUTV last night I'd go with

Gaz - Rio - Vida - Evra
Ronaldo - Carrick - Scholes - Park / Giggs
Berbatov - Rooney

Subs - Kuszczak, Tevez, Tosic, Brown, O'Shea, Fletch, Park/Giggs

Don't mind the score as long as we win and come away with a clean sheet. Everton are doing well at the moment, as has already been pointed out we need to watch Cahill like a hawk, will be interesting to see if Arteta is back but would expect a 2/3 - 0 win to United

Worth pointing out that Liverpool dropped points in this fixture. So we need to be focussed and make sure we dominate the midfield. I wouldn't start Rooney but bring him off the bench after an hour and give him 30 minutes. You can't rest/drop Tevez when he's in this form.

2-0 Berbatov, Vidic off a Tosic delivery

Would Evans and/or Nani be available for this game?

just checked the form table .. everton have picked 14 of the last 18 points , 3rd best in the league behind us and villa .

conceded just 1 goal in 6 games , second only to our 0 ..

this wont be easy .. just hoping they have a tiring night tonight ... being at OT is another advantage

I think it´ll be the same team as against West Brom, only with Fletcher starting instead of Giggs. Giggs never plays more than once a week and Fletcher was one of our better players last time we played Everton.

everton got liverfluke in the mid-week so perhaps they'll be thinking more about that game...

Evra to start, Rooney on the bench. As far as the rest of the team I think we are in the fantastic position of whoever SAF chooses they are all stepping up to the plate at the minute. Giggs has been outstanding, Park seems to have picked up a yard of pace somewhere and has learned a few new tricks. Scholesy is due to have a stormer and often does against Everton.

2 - 0

I'm pretty sure Nani will feature, along with Evra. As Fergie said they'll be back for the game on saturday I'll take that as a big hint.
Code:
             VDS
 Wes Rio Vidic Evra

Ronaldo Scholes Fletcher Nani

       Tevez Berbatov

Subs:
PIG
Neville
Tosic
O'Shea
Possebon
Giggs
Carrick

All this is guesswork of course, but I expect Brown to start on the bench again. He's been out for so long so it's best to ease him back into it.

I am also fairly confident that Carrick will start, with him being on form and vital to us, and there being no need to rest him due to the international break coming up after our match. I would expect Park to start as well, he was great yesterday and has been rested a lot lately. (Uhm, been injured I mean.)

Evra to start, Rooney on the bench.
According to the latest quotes Rooney won't be rushed back, so probably not on the bench on saturday.

Brown (welcome back Wesley !!)
Rio

Strong team that...........too strong for Everton at Old Trafford. 2-0 ! Rooney to play a part at some stage, possibly Evra too.......lovely

Looking forward to this game. I reckon its a close run affair . Cant see Scholes starting though. Not sure where Wes is at but if he's ok Id start him ahead of Neville. Rest of the team picks itself.

Neville --- Ferdinand ----- Vidic --- O'Shea
------- Carrick ----------- Scholes -------
Ronaldo ----------------------------- Park
-------------- Tévez ---------------------
------------------ Berbatov --------------

Subs: Kuszczak; Brown, Eckersley; Fletcher, Nani, Tosic; Welbeck.

Strongest team required again, and there's no reason for us not to go full strength, especially against a side like Everton. It's going to be difficult, but I think we can stop them from scoring and make it twelve in a row :). I'm unsure on the real fitness of Rooney, Evra, Nani, Evans etc, but I'd expect Nani to get on the bench out of those really. Brown is most likely not match fit, I'd like him to start, but it's safer to start Neville and have Brown as cover for Ferdinand / Vidic in this game, and we've got Eckersley just incase. Wouldn't expect to see Giggs on the bench, but you never know.

Man Utd 2-0 Everton
Ronaldo'
Berbatov'

5-0. Berba 33' 35' 45' 60' 89'

It seems most of our players will be back from injury... Fletcher was rested yesterday, I can see him definitely starting on Saturday. Moyes will most probably crowd the midfield (and use his 4-6-0 tactics) with Neville, Arteta, Pienaar, the hairy guy and Osman and play Cahill alone 'upfront'. We need to win the battle in the centre and avoid set pieces, otherwise Everton offer very little going forward. Their defence is very solid though, so scoring early will be crucial.

Van der Sar
Neville - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Carrick - Fletcher - Park
Berbatov - Tevez

subs: Foster, Brown, O'Shea, Scholes, Tosic, Nani, Welbeck

We need Park in there from the beginning, his work ethic will help against Everton's physical style of play. Bring on Nani when they are tired... I think Giggs will be rested for this one.
I expect us to win without conceding.
