A 4pm KO before the CL game? feck off Sky.

Will be interesting if Rio and Vida play or if one is rested for Madrid.
 
Really hard to pick a team for this given the CL Madrid game a few days later.

Have NO idea what SAF will do.

Your probably right but another option might be that Fergie gives Wayne and Rooney a 45-60 minute runout then sub them off, no matter what. Everton is the kind of club that has to be beaten with your top men.

I agree completely. Might be hard deciding which half of Wayne Rooney we take off though.

I'd go with:

de Gea, Jones, Evans, Vidic, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Anderson, Giggs, Rooney, van Persie.

And then look at getting Carrick, Vidic, and one of Rooney/van Persie off after an hour or so provided the game is going well.

Don't worry about the champions league game until after.
Don't Real play Barcelona? Or did I get that wrong.

Play the best team to beat Everton. Last year's game showed how easy it would be to throw points away.

Fellaini caused utter mayhem last year!

agree. play the best side. We have 8 days before the Everton match. I'm sure Rooney and RVP can play two matches in 4 days after such a rest. I would play Hernandez and Welbeck v QPR.

There is no 8 day rest for most of the players, there are stupid international friendlies in midweek.

I highly doubt the ability of Hernandez and Welbeck to score against a QPR side that's very good at the back now. We'll need atleast one of Rooney or RvP if we're to get a win at QPR. It'll probably be more difficult than the Everton game.
 
Kagawa has been stupidly called up to Japan's meaningless friendly against Latvia.

Doubt we'll see him until Madrid, are Ecuador and Mexico in action?
 
Which CB partnership would be best to handle Fellaini and Anichebe? Both very strong in the box, difficult to mark or dispossess.
 
Vidic to make the difference this time. fellaini has dominated us last two times and vidic was absent/unfit for both.

i dont want to drop 5 points to everton. particularly as their way of taking points from us is to keep the ball as high as possible. id like to think we can out think that.

honestly...I cannot believe we have kin internationals when we are going into the knock out stages of the CL.
 
Shouldn't risk the league because of the Real fixture in my view - we want to make a respectable showing in those games of course but we should be realistic.

That said, I'd still make a few alterations to the "usual" starting line-up: Vidic and Evans, as well as Smalling over Rafael for the height to deal with Felliani. Also think the pace of Hernandez could be good up against Heitinga.

Like, that we have a much better chance of winning the league than the Champions League, so shouldn't let the latter distract us from the former and thus risk giving City any encouragement back into the title race.

Fair enough, but I think we have strong squad to win the league and to aim for good results in CL too.
 
We'll need a brilliant performance from one of our top players in this one, as it's not going to be an easy game. I just remembered today that Hernandez has a great record against Everton, so one way or another, he has to be involved.

I have a feeling that Rooney is going to be the main man again though, he's in some form at the moment.
 
I can see Rio and Vida at the back. I hope Fergie sticks with Rafael at RB though can see Jones being played at RB. If anything put Jones in CM along with Carrick to combat Fellaini.
