Enough to get the job done. Pack the bench but save players for Chelsea.

I would rest a couple of players. Say Giggs and Hernandez. PL > CL.

We should've killed this tie off in Germany, instead it's a situation where if they score early it could become a much tougher game.

I expect VDS, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Carrick & Rooney all to start.

I really hope we don't disrespect this tie too much in terms of lineup and concentration. Its still a European CL semi final with a place in the final at stake, so they'll be trying and we don't want to give them any incentives.

I was surprised how easy the first leg was so doubt they could be any worse, they gave us way too much space and showed little in attack. They've proved they can score away from home even though they need 3 goals at ours. Sure its a hard task for them and we're favourites but the way the media and some people on this forum say we are in the final is cringe worthy for me, all it takes is a red card like v Bayern and it can turn. Lets start strong and put this to bed. :D Then we can start thinking about Chelsea or the final.

Hope we rest as many as possible for this. 2-0 up and if we mess this up against that horrible Schalke team then I think it would be better for us not to face Barca in the final.

Keep Rooney, Rio, Giggs and Hernandez fresh for Sunday.

Getting through to the final would give us such a boost before the Chelsea game.

I'm not sure about the personnel but Fergie needs to send out a hungry team with a point to prove. Don't even give them a chance of a comeback. Hit Schalke from the start and show them what our intent is. We simply have to get our momentum back, starting right here.

2-0 United, Owen and Nani to score!

no fecking around please, i want this done and dusted.

Keep Giggs for Chelsea

3 assists in his last 2 games against them...he must play

I thought Park, Chicha, Rooney, Evra and Carrick weren't fresh at all today and need some rest.
We should be able to cope without them and still get the job done. Giggs should be on the bench, just in case.

Honestly, can't see gung ho making things better. We've seen a young side with a point to prove fail miserably against West Ham attacking from the start. It just opens up the midfield and gives the opposition space from the start.

My guess...

-------------Van der Sar------------
-Rafael/Brown-Vidic-Ferdinand-O'Shea
--Valencia--Scholes--Fletcher--Giggs-
----------Berbatov-Owen------------

Berbatov and Owen up front is risky, I think we'll go Carrick and Scholes in midfield for one half and Fetcher/Scholes for the other. Love to see Fabio given a shot on the left wing if we are resting Park.

VDS - Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra - Nani, Scholes, Fletcher, Giggs - Berbatov, Owen.

Subs: PIG, O'Shea, Evans, Gibson, Carrick, Valencia, Rooney.

Exactly this for me. Maybe Hernandez on the bench too for a worse case scenario

Carrick needs a rest, I think Fletcher, Scholes or even Gibson, Scholes.

Those of you having Giggs in the lineup, don't you want him to play against Chelsea?

Since when can't he play twice in 5 days? That's why Fergie said he would rest him today.

I honestly wish Goggs had played today and next weekend and been rested for the Schalke game.

PS: I know "officially" he had the flu today.

Ok. It is a UCL semi final. I know we are 2-0 up but this is a golden opportunity.

I don't want too many changes and then we regret it later on.
