Manchester United vs. Liverpool

I think Park is guaranteed to start, either on the left wing in place of Nani or centrally in place of Scholes. I'm not sure which I'd prefer though... is Valencia guaranteed to start? His form seems a bit mixed at the moment.

Nahh, to be honest with Valencia, the Fulham game shouldn't be rated, all the balls were going to the left hand side and Nani got way more of the ball. I mean, it certainly wasn't his fault that he didn't shine. I'd still start Valencia ahead of Nani in terms of consistency, Park for Berbs to mark Gerrard and I'd think we'd be fine. Giggsy or Nani on the Left would be good and the best back four we've got !!! Hope somebody man marks Torres cause he is their only threat. Just hope we batter them and really take the game to them.

Liverpool will bust a gut to beat us as it is the most important thing to them so form really goes out the window. If they get through against Lille they will have a bit of confidence too. This will be a tough game imo.

ROONEY

Should destroy them, its overdue. really psyched about this one. as for webb, i thinks he's prone to a clanger like every ref but would be my choice as he doesnt seem to have bias in any direction. any mistake he makes is a genuine mistake rather than just being a cnut

starting to get the feeling Gerrard is going to get a winning goal after this latest farce by the FA.

--------- Carrick ---------- Scholes -------- Fletcher -------
Valencia ---------------------------------------------- Park

I agree, and what's the betting that cnut Gerrard gets a goal, seeing as he should at present be starting a 4 match ban. :nervous:

Should be nice and easy, this. Liverpool are worse than they've been in a long time, with the most clueless manager in the country at the helm. And with the run of form they're in, coming to the home of the best team in the country by a mile should make for good viewing. We'll fecking rape them.

:nono:

I wouldn't be too quick to write off Liverpool. They are going to treat this game like a feckin Champions League Final. The last shred of dignity they might just be able to pull from this season is to get a double over us and they are not going to to come to Old Trafford and let us walk over them.

I predict a close game where we might edge it by 1 single goal.

As long as Fletcher plays I think we'll be alright.

Yup. Dont think he's played in our last 3 games against them. I wasn't confident for any of them but I'm confident for this one now.

I want them to score the 1-0 against Lille in the 94th minte, then extar time, Lille to score the winner in the 120th minute.

wouldnt that be ideal? anyway as long as it goes to extra time iz good.

berbatov and nani should 100% start

there is no way giggs should be anywhere near the first 11

Three consecutive defeats against Liverpool now. The rot needs to stop and it will with an in-form Rooney, our strongest back four, Fletcher and Park's high energy levels and on home soil.

No ideal would be them loosing in penalties.

And then getting Montezuma's Revenge before the weekend.

This is going to be one of the longest weeks. I can't believe it is only Wednesday with 4 more days to the match.

:wenger:

So you're saying he shouldn't even be on the bench?

He has had a problem with his arm, he will still have been keeping fit during this time and will have been able to do plenty of ball work as well.

I wouldn't have him start, but i wouldn't complain if he did. As for not being "anywhere near the first 11". That's just stupid.

Keeping fit, doesnt mean he should start v Liverpool in his first game back though...

Seriously due a win in this fixture. Its been embarrassing to lose to this team 3 games on the trot!

Can see a convincing win tho for United. Similar to that at OT in 2008 (3-0 Brown, Ronaldo & Nani)

Was speaking to the guy from the Red Knights and apparently there is supposed to be a joint protest against the american owners. What a great way to get a point across to chant with our biggest rivals at how we dislike our owners!

Hopefully then followed by "YOU SCOUSE BASTARDS" Mwahahaha

Vidic certainly didn't struggle with Torres those first two matches, I don't remember Torres getting the better of either of them in those two matches. Lately he has, but not then.

Spot on.

It's such a bollocks statement and I'm getting sick and tired of people lazily trotting it out.

Name me a central defender in the PL who can match Torres in a foot race?

Also, was Vidic once lightening? I must have been in hibernation for that. Lets face it, we always knew he wasn't the quickest, but he's coped. At OT that day, he simply had a poor game. Nothing else. For the Torres goal, the fundamental error was not dealing with the ball first time as he normally would. Then pace wouldn't have even been an issue.

Correct.

assuming both mascherano and Lucas are fit and play, we need berbatov to ensure we don't give the ball away a la Rooney and tevez last year, if we do that we should dominate.

rio and vidic played but were unfit last time in october, but pool were poor and utd made 2 big errors with 2 goals scored against us

I have a feeling this will be a very very difficult match for us. 1-0 to United.

Yeah I can see why analysing things is a problem for you. Carrick good, Fletcher bad ... that's about it isn't it?

He is making complete sense this time. Good to see Fletcher will be playing this time, we have missed his presence in the middle while playing Liverpool for the last 3 times.

We will win 3-0

And Rio has never been owned by strikers with pace before? I recall players turning him easily like he was at ballet practice, prior to Vidic's arrival

That's horseshit.

Sun (yeah I know) reporting Giggs will be a surprise starter.

I highly doubt, he'll start after being out for some time - a cameo in the latter stages of the second-half is a possibility though.

Valencia and Park on the wings on Sunday. If Scholes somehow does not make it - there was talk of an ankle problem prior to the Fulham match -, I'd move Park back to the centre of midfield and bring on Nani.

The Champions' League draw has cushioned the excitement of the tie at the moment - I'm expecting that to change tomorrow.
