Manchester United vs. Newcastle United

I'll bet Chicha is mightily relieved to score. He missed a couple of brilliant chances towards the end, he can't have been looking forward to SAF's full time chat..

I can't see Newcastle scoring three goals against many teams this season and it's a dangerous game to rely on you scoring more than you let in.

Your defence is crap.

Our problems didnt stem from the centrebacks it was poor defending out wide as usual letting crosses into the box.
CB were very poor in the first half in this game as well. Plenty of miss placed passes put us under tones of pressure. At one point I didn't think Rio was allowed to pass to his own team mates.

Can't wait for this weekend to come. Have a funny feeling that with the flurry of fixtures and momentum in our favor, we may even (dare I say) extend our lead.

I think it does, no? FA can only act when the ref didn't see the incident, or am I wrong?

I thought that is basically how it works. No punishment is possible after the match if the ref has seen it and deemed it not worth the punishment at the time. Ref clearly saw the tackle and deemed it only a freekick.

I think that the ref can mention in his match report if he thinks he has made a mistake?

If he doesn't then the FA can't give out a ban if the ref sees it and decides no action needed.

Or at least that's my understanding of it.

You're not a happy chappy, Marching.

Me too, it could've turned out even better though if we would've beaten Swansea. (and this is a bit off topic: if the Knicks would've beaten the Lakers last night, still pissed about that)

Do the players actually listen to him anymore? That is the real question that needs to be answered.

Ah..half time chatting sh!t.....I love the cafe!

What a game that was! Had us all bloody worried, and we came through.

When they went 3-2 up it felt just like that Blackburn game. Losing, get it level, and just when you think we'll go and get a winner we conceded.

This time round we nailed it and got away with it.

Let's bloody hope some of Rooney, Young and Welbeck are available next game.

Cleverley will start. Absolutely no doubt

Awful defending. Crap midfield. Delicious win.

This reminds me of Tommy Doc's Utd;we'll score more than you feck the defence.

Not for the faint hearted but great for the neutrals

Easy to forget with VP being around now, but Hernandez is still a quality finisher.

Didn't look to be his day today though, especially that header against the post late on.

But great finish to the game!!

I sort of expect the same kind of game against Real, only with our team making less clearly moronic mistakes and Real actualy being Real in scoring those goals.

Hopefully it turns out like the Newcastle game, however my nerves would be at an all time high probably, which will lead me to getting high to calm the feck down :D

I'm ecstatic! 7 point clear of City, who it has to be said don't look great either.

Just celebrate with us.

City losing has just made this win all teh more delicious..

I mean we have been dodgy in so many ways...except scoring goals.

7 points ahead before New Year.

We always improve in Spring too.

Yeah. I'll take that.

gonna get drunk tonight.

Much depends on players returning from injury. Whatever the criticisms of the Giggs/Scholes partnership they wouldn't get ahead of the much younger midfield of Anderson,Nani,Kagawa and Young when they are fit again

Delighted! Glad we never gave up and improved our performance as required.

How is your sugar daddy owner. :D Any chance of the good times rolling for you guys?

Only Leeds could find the poorest sugar daddy out there....I suppose they have more money than Bates but they are certainly a few shekels behind the City billionaires.....having said that they did pay £52 million in cash for LUFC so who knows how much Warnock has to spend.

I said at the start of the season signing RvP will bring you the title and I've seen nothing to change my mind.....although I won't be celebrating with you....sorry Spoons ;)

As pleased as I am, the pleasure of this result only seems to heighten the tinge of our draw with Swansea for me - I don't really envision a city slump for any prolonged period (hope I'm wrong) and I can't really see our defense suddenly clicking (again hope I'm wrong.)

Fergie being animated is great for us to see, that desire will drive us towards getting our title back.

YouTube highlights?

This might not be the best ever team we have had at Old Trafford, but I struggle to think of a side thats more resilient. By sheer determination to win the match we somehow came from behind 3 times to snatch the maximum points.

Credit to the lads for working their socks off today. The barcodes played very well and exposed our midfield/defence but we just showed time and time again we wouldn't lay down and die.

Fantastic performance again from RVP. On a day when Rooney was shockingly not even named to the subs bench, he was the man that made us tick in attack. Thankfully, Fergie stuck with Chicharito right to the last minute because that lad kept missing chances and wasn't at his best but somehow came up with the winner.

The Scholes/Giggs combo made us look snail paced in midfield as usual. We were chasing shadows at times and I think Scholes has really lost a step or two since last season. Giggs played a decent game and its no surprise as he was in his preferred left wing position for most of the match.

Couldn't be a better result considering that citeh dropped 3 points today and we are now sitting pretty at the top with a 7 point gap. Now to put more pressure on them by beating a tough west brom side at home.

I only saw the highlights so I can't comment on the overall performance but we are certainly serving up the most dramatic games in the league, hopefully the defense tightens up though.

Wasn't he injured?

Newcastle played very well but I do wonder if you'd have been allowed back so often by a better side. The relentless traditional MU/Ferguson pressure (on & off the pitch) was a joy to watch and, with the players you have, was always going to pay off. Although I wouldn't have ruled out a Toon 4th had there been more time.

You lot have been SO lucky to have Ferguson...I'd be a little scared that he's not got many seasons left....but what fabulous memories he'll leave behind.
